These are used by opportunistic and antagonistic actor’s for successful effects and today disinformation is at the core of cybercrime activities. ▶️Like other illegitimate services the Disinformation-as-a-Service business model has significantly grown the last years. ▶️There are, now, several ongoing crisises that act as a multiplier for human errors and the spread and effects of disinformation is increasing at an unprecedented rate. Government agencies have adopted BankID to make it easy to set up legitimate businesses in Sweden, which has also enabled fraudsters. Some have used fake companies with phony payrolls to launder money. Through such schemes, organized criminals can turn income from fraud and drug sales into a tool to get bank loans and extract payments from the welfare system. “That means you can generate profits from crime and then ultimately get a state pension based on that income,” said Larson, the Swedish prosecutor. “That is extremely offensive.” Reported cases of benefit fraud have doubled in the last decade, from just under 9,000 in 2014 to over 23,000 in 2023, according to the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention. In its efforts to clamp down on crime, the government created a new agency this year solely focused on tracking erroneous welfare payments. As the scale of the problems grow, banks are introducing measures that will allow additional layers of security, including requiring approval from a trusted second party for large transfers. But for the most part, they’re voluntary, with users needing to opt in to set up two-stage authorization or delay payments. “It’s a constant quest to find the right balance between accessibility and security,” said Peter Göransson, a senior security adviser at the Swedish Bankers’ Association. “There will be situations where transfers will be slower — and that is already happening — but that’s the world we live in and I think there is an understanding among customers for that.” The development has led to calls for banks to bear a bigger share of the burden when their customers are exposed to fraud. In the second half of 2023, payment service providers only footed about 10% of the bill, and the country’s financial watchdog has said that Sweden might do well to follow an example from the UK, which from October will require banks to reimburse customers who have been conned into making transfers."

The CV90 order backlog grows larger The Swedish Armed Forces (FMV) signs a new framework agreement to purchase additional CV90 from BAE System, that most likely include cybersecurity from Clavister. This comes after the Swedish Armed Forces donated 50 CV90’s to Ukraine. FMV did not quantify the number of vehicles included in the contract, but we believe it could be 50-100 initially (including replacement of vehicles sent to Ukraine plus an additional direct shipment to Ukraine), corresponding to a potential order value of SEK ~30-60m for Clavister, and deliveries from 2026. As such, we think this should lead to positive revisions to consensus 2026e of 4-6% on sales and 8-12% on EBTIDA. Detection is the second crucial element in the layered protection strategy, designed to slow down an attacker and provide additional time for response. Effective delay tactics include physical barriers such as expansive perimeters, robust fencing, reinforced doors, and secure interiors like safes or vaults. The final component of the layered protection strategy is the ability to mount an effective defence and response. This involves both physical and procedural elements, including armed response teams, coordination with law enforcement, and emergency protocols designed to neutralize threats and safeguard assets. The success of a layered protection strategy hinges on its ability to balance security with operational efficiency. After a close protection operative is confronted with a threat (or principal is confronted with a threat) a measure of time will elapse before the protector can take evasive or defensive action against it. This measure of time is the reaction time, which for a normal person is approximately 0.7 seconds regardless of their background and training. There is also an amount of time for a person to perceive that there is a dangerous situation that requires a counter action. The combined time for a person to perceive a threat and react to it is known as the perception-reaction time. Understanding the unpredictability and speed of an attack and understanding the perception-reaction time. Combine this with Time and Distance (Gavin de Becker) will give you an idea of how quickly you need to react to a threat being actioned on your Principal. Intelligence agents must be observant and meticulous during routine patrols, scanning their environment for potential issues. Key practices include checking for leaking pipes, improperly stacked items, spills, tripping hazards, and issues with flooring or carpeting. They often engage in the "What-If" game, imagining various scenarios and planning responses to prepare for real-life situations. Effective intelligence work relies heavily on human interaction, and robust intelligence protocols are implemented across various sectors in Australia. In a significant move to bolster Finland's national cyber resilience, Nixu, a DNV company and a leading European cyber security service provider, has inked three pivotal cooperation agreements with Lockheed Martin Corporation.  These agreements, which are part of the indirect industrial cooperation linked to Finland's procurement of F-35 fighter jets, are set to enhance the nation's cyber capabilities through a series of projects valued at a minimum of 500 million euros.  The collaboration will see the establishment of a cutting-edge cybersecurity laboratory, the development of AI-based advanced threat detection, and the creation of context-aware threat intelligence using artificial intelligence and large language models.

Personal protection is a crucial field that requires the use of top-quality tools and a deep understanding of how to use them. The handcuff, a fundamental tool in this field, represents not just restraint but also a profound responsibility. An anecdote from a bodyguard magazine illustrates the importance of meticulous preparation in security operations. A client was left in peril for an extended period due to a failure in ethical judgement and basic preparedness. This negligence highlights the need for a systemic undervaluation of preparedness in security operations. Another example is a bodyguard who neglected to prepare adequately with maps or GPS, leading to confusion and unnecessary delay. In air travel, another protection specialist failed to communicate effectively with airline security about the necessity to carry handcuffs, leading to detainment and significant disruptions. Proper advance coordination could have avoided these incidents. In a world increasingly concerned with safety and security, the importance of preparedness cannot be overstated. It is a foundational principle that supports the integrity of security professions and the lives they are meant to protect. Emerging reports that Danish PM Mette Frederiksen has been assaulted in public in Copenhagen. While details have yet to be confirmed, the incident is the latest in a recent series of attacks on public officials in Europe, amidst heightened geopolitical and sociopolitical tensions, and various election periods, notably the upcoming EU Parliamentary elections. Regardless of the perpetrator's intent, the attack on Frederiksen and other officials underscores the myriad grievances fuelling threat actors to 'take action', concerns over 'copycat' actions, and vulnerabilities in executive protection of principals (public officials or otherwise).
