Final Fantasy XIV Online has been released for consoles and PCs for quite some time and it looks like the game will be making its way to Mobile devices. According to reliable leaker, Kurakasis, Tencent, and Square Enix have partnered to develop a mobile version of the popular online Final Fantasy title.
“eXputer has learned that Final Fantasy XIV Mobile is currently in development. As per the site’s sources, bringing the popular MMORPG to mobile devices is a joint project of Square Enix and Tencent.”
It was reported in the past that Tencent was developing a mobile title for Square Enix’s known IP, NieR, but they could not find a compelling monetization model.
Final Fantasy XIV Online has been available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC and only came to Xbox Series X|S this year. Adding it to the mobile platform will continue to benefit players and Square Enix.
An official announcement has not been made from either company and as always we must take reports like these with a grain of salt.
