Recommended level: 115 (personal level: 125)This is an optional boss fight that can be fought in the Crumbling Farum Azula region, accessed after accepting Melina's request in the Giant's Forge and setting the Erdtree aflame. To get to this boss, start from the Beside The Great Bridge Site of Grace near the end of the region. Take the elevator you used to get up here and move past the three beastmen you faced on your way at the bottom of the elevator. Exit their building and go to the edge of the cliff in a straight line. If you look carefully below, you will see a bunch of cliffs that you can drop to. Reach the very end platform and you will have an option to lie down. You will be taken to this boss after a small cutscene.

The boss

This two-headed dragon is the strongest of all dragon bosses as the name suggests. The fight will begin as soon as you get closer to him, so you have enough time to use your Summons and prepare accordingly.

• As soon as the fight begins, the dragon will summon lightning in multiple spots of the arena. You can see where they will land, so run towards avoiding them.
• The lightning attack will repeat even as you are right next to him, so hit-and-run is advised when he does that.
• When you are attacking from his back, beware of his tail-sweeping attack.
• As every normal dragon, he will also attack using his fire-breath attack. Run and back away to avoid it if you are not close enough to him.
• Placidusax can also enhance his claws with red energy and perform a slash at you. Dodge towards him to avoid this attack. He can also summon the red energy and slam the ground in front of him. Run to his sides if you see this happening.

When his HP is at 50% he will begin to make flying attacks diving at you with his energy-clad claws. It is at this part that the fight becomes annoying as the dragon often turns into ash and will re-appear at a random place away from you. It will occasionally stay in the ground for an extended period of time allowing you to take away his remaining health.

Using the Black Knife Tiche summon upgraded at a high level is recommended for this fight because of her Black Flame that can reduce the boss' max HP. You can also use the Mimic Tear or Latenna The Albinauric for this fight, if you want a summon that can continuously deal damage from a distance. She can be found in Slumbering Wolf's Shack, past the Lakeside Crystal Cade, located at the southern part of the Liurnia of the Lakes and to become a Summon, you must talk to Albus in the Village of the Albinaurics and get the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right). Be mindful though of the place where you will summon her, as she will not be able to move being an Albinauric.Melee Strategy: One of the best skills to use in this fight Ash of War: Hoarfrost Stomp. You can find this skill by killing an invisible scarab in the lake southeast from the Caria Manor in Liurnia Lake (West). Equip any armor and talismans you may have that help you negate all types of non-physical damage, such as the Pearldrake Talisman. Due to the dragon's constant teleportation in phase 2 you will be chasing the boss a lot, so be careful of his attacks and close the distance whenever you have the chance. The usual Bleeding strategy will work for this boss, despite his high resistance to all types of non-physical damage.
