Minecraft has now sold over 122 million copies, with over 55 million of us still checking into the game every single month.

The figures - which came courtesy of a tweet from the official Minecraft twitter account earlier today - are up from the 106 million copies of Minecraft sold as of last year, placing it among the best-selling games of all time.

According to Mojang's own stats, that means if every player lined up in a row, the conga line would encircle the globe... which is pretty astonishing, let's face it.

During Nintendo big Switch reveal event in January, a new version of Minecraft was shown for Switch.

Microsoft bought Minecraft developer Mojang for $2.5 billion in 2014, but, as the game's continued roll-out on pretty much every platforms available testifies, that didn’t stop the franchise from appearing on multiple platforms.

Minecraft received a major update on Windows 10 and mobile late last year.
