#2 What is Webflow?

Are you looking for a modern approach to web development? If yes, then this website builder should be on top of your list.

Webflow is the product of an innovative vision.

As a website builder, it enables designers to create excellent, bespoke websites on a visual canvas that requires no coding! In fact, you can choose whether to make a website from scratch or start with one of their attractive templates.

However, it is crucial to note that even though it doesn’t involve coding, it does require particular technical knowledge of how websites are formed on the front end.

Still, it has a superb template selection, suited for eCommerce and web content.

#3 How to install Webflow

Installing Webflow is actually super easy! Just follow my steps, and you’ll have everything set up in less than 5 minutes. Pinky promise!

Step 1: Go to Webflow’s website.

Step 2: Click the ‘Get started — it’s free’ button.

Step 3: Answer several questions about your role and business.

In this section, you’ll be guided into a set of instructions (sections 1 and 2) to guide you into making your long-desired website.

Step 4: It’s time to get the ball rolling.

Feel free to unleash your hidden creativity in this step. Your website is a reflection of you, so make it a hit!

If you’re unfamiliar with website development, Webflow’s video lessons, blogs, and showcases will get you back up and running. They will provide you with the knowledge, ideas, and motivation you need to thrive with Webflow — and as a business.

#4 Templates

Webflow stands out when it comes to design, despite not being the cheapest or easiest platform to use. You can tweak everything without knowing how to code, giving it a sophisticated feel without making it inaccessible.

The templates are well-designed, mobile-friendly, and suitable for various sectors. Webflow’s functionalities, on the other hand, are limited, and you may need to rely on third-party integrations.

Take a look at these examples:

Example 1 – Ecommerce Template

Example 2 – Agency Template

Example 3 – Restaurant template

Things you should know about Webflow Templates:

  • The templates can be filtered by business, category, style, feature, and type, making it quick to locate a template that matches your requirements.
  • Webflow’s templates are all responsive for the users!  Each template has a brief explanation that tells you what type of site it’s best suited for and what design options you have.

#5 The Editor

Managing your website’s content should not be stressful. Thank goodness, Webflow has made it simple! There are no complicated dashboards, or unconnected back ends with the Webflow Editor. It’s just you, your anticipated website, and the information you want to add.

Several facts you need to know about The Editor:

  • The Editor allows you to update and add material in a simple interface, which is ideal for clients or colleagues who don’t want the Designer’s complexity.
  • In contrast to Webflow’s Designer, which allows you to develop and design your website, the Editor merely allows you to modify and manage the content.
  • To access The Editor, just go to your dashboard and click the ellipses in the bottom-right corner of your project thumbnail.

Webflow’s Designer

Aside from The Editor, get to know more about Webflow’s Designer!

I’ve listed the tools you’ll see there to help you in case you get overwhelmed.

Take note: All components you need to create and update are on the left side, and everything you need to design is on the right side.

Left Side of the Designer

  • Elements and Layouts

Browse the Elements Panel to examine the layout elements available for your site.

  • Symbols

Use Symbols to handle repeated styles and content across your site efficiently.

  • Navigator

To adjust element hierarchy and location, use the Navigator panel in the left toolbar.

  • Pages

The Pages panel displays the structure of your website, including the pages and folders that store them.

  • CMS Collections

CMS Collections are content types that have diverse structures, such as blog posts, authors, or support articles.

  • Assets

The Assets panel allows you to upload and operate all of the assets on your website. It is located on the left panel and enables you to drag and drop your assets into your awaiting project effortlessly.

  • Settings

This panel includes the Search Index and Backups. Feel free to back up your project to avoid wasting time and losing your hard work.

To specify the properties of an HTML element, you may use the custom attributes in this panel.

  • Style Manager

The Style Manager presents a comprehensive list of classes and tags in your project that you’ve generated or updated.

  • Interactions

This section offers a diverse set of graphical options for animations.

#6 Ease of Use

In my opinion, Webflow will take some of your time understanding it. Yeah, it’s kinda hard (at first!).

For some, its Designer can be complicated and time-consuming as it is feature-packed. However, the outcome is satisfying as you will have a well-built, dynamic website that you’ve always been planning for.

Indeed, Webflow is a robust tool, which means mastering its advanced capabilities will take some time. If you need help, the platform delivers in-depth video tutorials in addition to written material, including curated lists that lead you through the ones that would be most useful for a specific activity.

Overall, this option is a decent alternative for anyone looking for a powerful yet accessible site builder.

#7 Ecommerce

Is Webflow suitable for eCommerce?

Yes, it is. To be honest, it has numerous advantages.

Let me explain why.

As technology makes it easier to establish and operate an eCommerce store, standing out from the crowd is more vital than ever.

And by sticking out from the crowd, I mean developing a website specific to your company goals.

The good thing is…

Webflow helps you create a customized eCommerce store — from product grids to shopping carts without writing a single word of code.  As a user, you’ll be able to create landing pages, ads, and promos in minutes rather than days or weeks!

Overall, I can assure you that you can build your eCommerce store YOUR way.

A few of Webflow’s eCommerce features:

  • You can personalize your shopping cart and checkout with ease.
  • Webflow’s eCommerce is very flexible. It does not impose a typical eCommerce framework on you. Instead, you are free to be inventive and create any form of the bespoke web page you can dream of.
  • You can develop a magnificent and one-of-a-kind eCommerce site with nearly any animation and effect.

#8 Features

Webflow is living up to its expectations of being an excellent website builder. To know more about its features, check out the following:

  • Sites are responsive.

Webflow sites are responsive by nature, which means they look and operate well on any device. Whatever you create for the desktop will instantly cascade down to smartphones and tablets.

  • Concise, compliant, and exportable codes.

Webflow websites are backed by clear, semantic code that is easy for search engine crawling bots to read. Since its visual development tools are based on HTML and CSS, the results are pleasing to developers and search engines.

  • Visually tempting interactions.

Webflow provides designers with the tools they need to construct their interactions, such as auto-loading elements. When animating tools become more available to creatives, the boundary is pushed, producing better outcomes.

  • Iterations are done swiftly.

I know you’d love this feature!

Webflow enables you to complete projects more quickly without compromising quality. You could implement the client’s comments and suggestions in just a snap without being on the verge of tears because of the stress and pressure.

#14 FAQ

Considering the information above, let us discuss the FAQs in this Webflow review!
