June’s top mobile game downloads worldwide

Here are the most-downloaded games worldwide from last month, according to Appmagic data.

The top ten is below, with Appmagic’s estimated downloads for June plus annotations that indicate each game’s month-on-month rise or fall in the rankings. These estimates do not include numbers from China’s fractured Android market.

There’s also commentary on June’s most notable trends from the top 20 and beyond below.

Despite being Android-only, Zego Studio’s awkwardly-titled Manage Supermarket Simulator still topped Appmagic’s download charts for June.

Vietnamese developer Zego is not shy when it comes to jumping on trends – it scored a similar hit with a janky Spider-Man 2-like game when that dropped on PS5 last year – and the same is true here.

In April, Digital Melody’s Supermarket Manager Simulator gatecrashed the top ten off the back of a hit Steam game, but failed to gather any further momentum. Enter Zego Studio’s effort, which has a more balanced spread of markets in its install profile. Where the previous supermarket simulator was overwhelmingly driven by downloads in Brazil, Manage Supermarket Simulator is more evenly split. Brazil still leads with 13% of June downloads, followed by Indonesia (11%), Mexico (9%), India (8%), Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and Turkey (all 6%).

Roblox remains very much Roblox, up a little on last month but still hovering just under 20m monthly installs as it usually is. Expect a rise over the summer as the school holidays kick in.

Supercell’s Squad Busters lands in third in its first full month on the app stores with 17.3m downloads for June. One can only guess at how that compares to what Supercell was expecting, but for a quick comparison: Appmagic’s data says Brawl Stars generated 37.3m downloads in its first 30 days, while Squad Busters pulled in 26.8m. Bear in mind that as ever Appmagic’s estimates are guidance only – Supercell told us not long after launch that Squad Busters had hit 30m lifetime installs – that’s including soft launch – in its first week.

Still, this fits into the overall picture that Squad Busters may not have fully hit the mark by Supercell’s standards, given the growth of the market in the last five years. Most other companies would be delighted, of course.

Top ten stalwarts Ludo King and Subway Surfers each posted pretty typical install numbers for June, though both are down a little month-on-month.

Supercent’s Pizza Ready has been riding high for months, but slid down to sixth spot in June with 14.7m downloads. After April’s high of 22.1m and May’s 19.9m, that represents quite a drop.

Like Roblox, Ludo King and Subway Surfers, Hungry Studio’s Block Blast has had a typical month in at just under 14m downloads in June, sitting just ahead of Garena’s Free Fire games.

Both Free Fire Max and Free Fire are up one spot this month, and up a little on May’s total downloads, thanks to some high profile seventh anniversary live ops and updates, which lean on fan favourite maps and features from yesteryear.

Rounding out the top ten is My Talking Tom Friends, which has been gently rising month-on-month since November 2023. With My Talking Tom 2 in 13th, My Talking Angela 2 in 27th and five more Talking Tom games dotted about the top 100 downloads, Outfit7 is still quietly pulling in huge numbers for these virtual pet games.

June’s top mobile game downloads worldwide 11-20

11. Wood Nuts: Screw Puzzle (Zego): 10.4m
12. Race Master 3D – Car Racing (SayGames): 10.2m
13. My Talking Tom 2 (Outfit7): 9.2m
14. Brawl Stars (Supercell): 8.9m
15. Candy Crush Saga (King): 8.6m
16. PUBG Mobile (Tencent): 8.4m
17. 8 Ball Pool (Miniclip): 8.3m
18. EA Sports FC (EA): 8.3m
19. Royal Match (Dream Games): 8.1m
20. Going Balls (Supersonic): 7.9m

The spectacular run Brawl Stars has been on appears to be tailing off somewhat in terms of downloads; after three months running racking up 10-12m monthly installs it dipped down below 9m for June.

Worth noting too that 8 Ball Pool has returned to a more typical 8-9m monthly downloads. It was posting 12-14m monthly installs at the end of 2023 and in early 2024.

EA Sports FC saw a nice bump up the rankings by 11 spots as a result of both the Euros starting in Germany (and perhaps also the Copa America beginning in the US).

Dream Games’ Royal Match racked up just over 8m installs in June, its lowest total since February 2023 and some way off its peak in January and February this year, when it was pulling in over 18m monthly installs.

Let’s finish with a couple of Tencent updates: Honor of Kings‘ global launch pushed the game up 169 places to 34th spot with 7m downloads in June.

Meanwhile the Chinese firm’s monstrous new launch Dungeon & Fighter Mobile got just 1.8m downloads in June, according to Appmagic’s data. As a result it’s not even in the top 100 downloads, but it has certainly made a splash in the top grossing charts.
