June’s top grossing mobile games worldwide

Here are last month’s top grossing mobile games worldwide based on in-app purchase earnings, according to Appmagic data.

These IAP estimates do not include ad revenue, web shop spend, Apple and Google’s 30% cut or revenue from China’s fragmented Android ecosystem.

There’s commentary on which way the biggest earners are trending and other interesting tidbits from the top 20 and beyond below.

The top grossing charts have a new champion, Dungeon & Fighter Mobile, though of course it’s still Tencent ruling the roost.

The game’s long-awaited mobile launch in China is an absolute phenomenon; it was already a huge game on PC and has clearly benefitted from years of pent-up mobile demand. June’s estimated haul of $163.4m puts its way ahead of closest contender Royal Match, which itself posted revenue of over $100m.

That’s the fourth time Dream Games’ match 3 has passed $100m in a month to date, and it has been hovering around that landmark since December 2023.

FirstFun’s LastWar is up month-on-month once more, and will pass that $100m mark too if the trend continues. June’s $96m total is notable rise from May’s $88m, and represents a great run for a game that’s just over a year old.

Roblox is up one place in the rankings and sees a month-on-month rise in revenue by about $1.5m to reach $94.3m in June. That’s at the top end of the $80-95m range it’s been bouncing around in since January 2024.

Arguably the most shocking sight in this month’s chart is Honor of Kings down in a lowly fifth, having posted ‘just’ $93.3m in June. It has clearly been hit by the fervour for fellow Tencent game DNF Mobile – it’s too early to say if there’s some Mihoyo-style cannibalisation going on here, but it’s worth keeping an eye on these two games once we’re through the launch period.

Scopely’s Monopoly Go also takes a tumble this month down into sixth, dropping by around $10m in revenue month-on-month. It’s actually the third straight month of revenue decline for the game since its record $132m in March – is the game actually in decline, or is Scopely moving more and more folks over to its webshop…? We’ll ask…

King’s Candy Crush Saga is about as steady as it gets in seventh, its fourth straight month in the $85-88m bracket, though PUBG Mobile has seen a pretty dramatic decline since March’s monthly total of $119m. June’s earnings of $77m is its lowest total since June last year.

Century Games’ Whiteout Survival scores its fourth straight month of earning $61-63m per month,  and Honkai: Star Rail completes the top ten in similar fashion, a second month in a row of $61m-ish in earnings.

June’s top grossing mobile games worldwide 11-20

11. Brawl Stars (Supercell): $60.2m
12. Coin Master (Moon Active): $53.8m
13. Genshin Impact (Mihoyo): $46.2m
14. Wuthering Waves (Kuro Games): $41.9m
15. Gardenscapes (Playrix): $37.5m
16. Pokémon Go (Niantic): $35.1m
17. Legend of Mushroom (Joy Net Games): $29.7m
18. Township (Playrix): $29.4m
19. Fishdom (Playrix): 28.1m
20. Clash of Clans (Supercell): $26.4m

As with Brawl Stars’ downloads performance lately, the game’s monster comeback appears to have peaked. We’re now on the other side of May’s record $67.4m haul, with just over $60m earned in June. Still, it’s a very long way from the measly $5m Brawl Stars earned in June 2023.

Coin Master is down a fraction on May’s total, while Genshin Impact’s earnings are up ~$10m month-on-month to just over $46m. Generally, though, Mihoyo’s action-RPG appears to be broadly in decline since it last passed $100m in monthly earnings back in November 2023. And that slump may continue once Zenless Zone Zero arrives at the end of this week.

Up 25 places into 14th spot this month is Kuro Games’ Wuthering Waves, a game that has followed up a strong download performance at launch with nearly $42m earned in its first full month of release.

Pokémon Go is up a little on May’s total, but still way below the $64m it earned in February 2024 (though it is naturally quite a spiky game in terms of revenue profile).

Legend of Mushroom sees another month of decline, down from its peak in March of $58m, while regular performers Township, Fishdom and Clash of Clans each show slight month-on-month declines.

Beyond the top 20, it’s worth nothing Konami’s eFootball rising a little (presumably thanks to the Euros and Copa America) and Solo Leveling: Arise falling 15 places after launch month.

And finally for the Squad Busters watchers: its first full month on the charts shows Supercell’s latest release earning an estimated $20.2m in June, the 34th top grossing game last month. But is that enough for a Supercell launch…?
