Everdale is Supercell’s latest confirmed kill

Supercell is ending development of another of its soft launch games, Everdale.

It confirmed the news in a blog post this morning, stating that “Everdale does not meet our ambitions for a Supercell game.”

“At Supercell we believe our players deserve the very best games, and despite all the efforts we made for Everdale, they did not meet the standards we have set for ourselves and for our players,” said the statement.

Appmagic data suggests that Supercell earned $2.6m from 1.5m downloads during its soft launch, which began in August 2021. Sensor Tower says that as of today, the game was in beta in Australia, Canada, UK, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway,  Philippines, Singapore, Sweden and Switzerland.

It was also stealthily released before that as Valleys & Villages, under Supercell pseudonym Osmium Interactive.

The game’s servers will be turned off on Monday October 31st. Players will be able to contact Supercell’s support team to transfer purchases over to other games in the Finnish giant’s portfolio.

The most recent major update to the game was announced through the video below in May, which introduced new events, animals and buildings.

“We want to express our everlasting gratitude for everyone that took the time to play Everdale, and especially those of you who gave us feedback and suggestions,” the blog concluded. “Thank you for being the most amazing community we have ever had.”

The announcement took a very similar form to the statement that greeted the cancellation of Clash Quest in August, which also did not meet Supercell’s expectations.

With Everdale and Clash Quest gone, Supercell now has one remaining game in soft launch, Clash Mini. That game was released in 11 countries in November 2021.

Another previously announced game set in the Clash universe, Clash Heroes, is still in alpha, and has yet to make it to soft launch.
