History sections of technical blocks, separated from their main articles due to plans to transclude these on the main technical blocks article as well in future as well as to make accessing the content for planned future edits easier.

The term "technical block" means blocks that cannot be obtained conventionally, but it is used in some circumstances. In Java Edition, most of item forms of technical blocks was removed by adding resource location functionality to items in 13w37a, adding method registerItemBlock(block) (14w25a). Before 13w37a, all blocks had a direct item form.

In Bedrock Edition, they can be obtained through inventory editing.

Ways to obtain ItemBlock, from more legitimate to less legitimate:

Crafting (1) ->> Mining (2) ->> Looting (3) ->> Silk Touch (4) ->> Creative tabs (5) ->> /give command (6) ->> Inventory editing (7) ->> Backporting to 14w21b and backwards (8) ->> Backporting to 13w36a and backwards (9) ->> Manual registration [Modding] (10)

Now most of technical block can be obtained only with 7, 8, 9 and 10. If you are playing in Bedrock Edition 7 is enough but if you are playing in Java Edition it is not enough. At least 8 required.
