Two men have been jailed after raping a 16-year-old girl in central London and coercing her to get in a car.

Adilson Domingos, 42, from West Ham in east London and Baxton Atenis, 29, from Tottenham in north London were found guilty of raping the teenage girl while she was out with her friend.

The three-week-long trial at Wood Green Crown Court concluded in February.

And on Monday the two men were sentenced, with Atenis jailed for 13 years and Domingos handed 12 years behind bars.

The victim, who was 16 at the time of the rape, was out with her friend in central London in July 2021 when the two men approached her.

They coerced her to get into a car with them and drove the girl to Atenis’ home, where they raped her.

The girl managed to get out of the house in the early hours of the morning on the following day and she called the police.

The Metropolitan Police said the girl was able to provide them with useful details to help in the investigation, including the address of the house the men drove her to, the registration number of the car and a phone number that Atenis had given to her.

Police arrested Atenis first and from this arrest, detectives were able to identify and arrest Domingos, after he was identified from a social media profile.

Detective Constable Daniella Biggins said Domingos and Atenis are ‘highly dangerous, predatory individuals who targeted a young girl and isolated her from her friends before raping her’.

DC Biggins continued: ‘With the support of her wonderful family and friends, the victim showed immense courage and bravery in supporting a police investigation. I would like to personally thank her for the strength she has shown, and also to the witnesses who provided evidence.

‘I can only hope the conviction goes some way to providing closure to the victim after what was a horrific experience, whilst also being a part of keeping these dangerous individuals off the streets.’
