Behaviour UK’s Bob Makin Wins Big at Tees Business Awards

Behaviour’s UK team earned a prestigious new feather for its cap with a big win for its General Manager, Bob Makin, at the 2024 Tees Business Awards on April 18.

The awards celebrate the best and brightest of the business community in the Teesside region, which is home to Behaviour UK. Bob was the star of the show, winning the coveted Business Leader of the Year Award.

Behaviour was also one of three finalists in the highly competitive Business of the Year category at the awards.

“It’s a huge honour to be named Business Leader of the Year, especially given the competition in our thriving business community,” Bob says. “As a born-and-bred Teessider, this is extra special and I’m so proud to have a role in this community’s growth and development into a world-class hub for companies like Behaviour.”

Behaviour UK opened its doors in the Teesside city of Middlesbrough in early 2023 after Behaviour acquired local game developer, SockMonkey Studios, which was co-founded by Bob and business partner Darren Cuthbert in 2013.

"It's been wonderful to see Behaviour's UK operations thrive under Bob’s watch," says Wayne Meazza, Executive Vice-President of Behaviour's Services division. "This is well-deserved recognition from the Tees business community for his untiring efforts to promote his hometown, Behaviour’s UK headquarters and the region."

Behaviour is a finalist for Company of the Year in the upcoming 2024 Tees Tech Awards, which will be celebrated on June 6. Darren, who is now Programming Technical Director at Behaviour UK, is also nominated in the Unsung Hero category.
