Saudi gaming market expected to grow by %250 in 2023

evolving and expanding

The gaming market in the middle east saw a great growth during the recent years, especially in Saudi Arabia, as the country invested heavily in some of the biggest gaming companies in the world, like Capcom and Nintendo.

That’s why it’s no surprise the country now expects its market to grow by significant amount in the coming years, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al Tamimi, Governor, Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), announced during his participation in an event called Next World Forum, that the Saudi gaming market is expected to grow by 250% in 2023.

"We expect a 250% increase in the Saudi gaming market from now until 2030,”

“There will be a contribution to GDP to be 50 times for the same period with gaming spending 25% higher than other comparable markets."

A 250% increase is no doubt a huge expansion of the gaming market in the country, and with a enormous predictions like this, one might naturally wonder, will there be more acquisition along the line of this growth?

Unfortunately, there was no statement regarding further investment in the worldwide market, the country might try to sharpen its foot in the market by creating it's own developing and publishing abilities, rather than increasing it's investment in a third party companies, which is something we might see in the near future through local projects like “NEOM” that promise a futuristic city with bigger focus on many entertainment sectors, including the gaming industry.
