You’ll be taken to Tumblr where you’ll be asked to approve the connection between your site and your Tumblr account. Click Allow.

If you have more than one Tumblr blog you will then be prompted to choose one.

You can also make the connection available to all users of the site so that when another user creates a post it will also auto-share to this Tumblr connection. To do this, click on the arrow next to your Tumblr connection, and then check the box saying ‘Connection available to all administrators, editors, and authors’.

Reconnecting Tumblr

If your Tumblr connection gets disconnected or needs a reset, follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect Tumblr: From your WordPress dashboard (Jetpack → Settings → Sharing), click ‘Connect your social media accounts’. Then, click ‘Disconnect’ next to the Tumblr link.
  2. Confirm Disconnection: Ensure the notification confirms the disconnection.
  3. Remove WordPress App: Log in to your Tumblr account, go to App Settings, and remove the WordPress app.
  4. Reconnect Tumblr: Return to your WordPress dashboard and follow the steps to reconnect Tumblr.

Known Issue: Previously Scheduled Posts Not Sharing After Tumblr Reconnection

We’re actively investigating an issue where previously scheduled posts may not share after reconnecting Tumblr. Here’s what you can do in the meantime:

  1. Switch Post to Draft: Change affected scheduled posts back to ‘draft’.
  2. Remove and Re-establish Connection: Remove the Tumblr connection, then reconnect it.
  3. Reschedule Post: Change the post status from ‘draft’ to ‘scheduled’ again

By following these steps, you can ensure that your posts are shared on Tumblr as planned. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding while we work on resolving this issue.
