The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) hosted the event, ‘Pawan Urja: Powering the Future of India’, on wind energy adoption in India. Supported by ReNew, the event examined the incredible strides taken to advance wind power and secure pathways to ramp up its adoption. Maharashtra stands at the forefront of wind energy, ranking fourth among all states. ReNew Group President Chintan Shah emphasised the criticality of wind energy for grid stability in the background of Maharshtra’s own net zero goals by 2070. Chintan also stressed the optimal use of transmission infrastructure as well as land in combination with solar for hybrid, RTC, and FDRE projects. ReNew Senior Vice President Purnendu Chaubey moderated the session, ‘Solutions for Regulatory and Policy in Maharashtra’. He highlighted the problems faced by developers in installing wind projects like ROW, approvals, demand creation due to RPO compliance, repowering of wind projects, evacuation, WTG availability, OEM issues, and development of offshore wind. Wind power plays a crucial role in India’s energy mix, contributing to energy security, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and fostering sustainable development. As a company predicated on energy affordability and access—through robust development and deployment of projects, technological innovation, efficiency, storage, and grid integration—ReNew remains fervently committed to enhancing wind power in the country. #InSitesWithSumant Per research, companies in the top quartile in organisational health have 6X fewer safety incidents than those in the bottom quartile—almost 3X as many incidents leading to lost work time. Health and safety are also measures of how people can sustain growth over time—a direct bearing on work culture and environment. Indeed, strong holistic health has implications beyond immediate business performance. ReNew strives for superior organisational health, aligned around clear strategies and execution—renewing over time—to ensure a strong safety culture. The High Commission of India in London convened a roundtable around the theme ‘Accelerating #IndiaUK Collaboration for Green Growth’. Supported by ReNew, the event was attended by thought leaders, businesspeople, academicians, and government officials, touching upon critical aspects of the energy transition, including the following: • Collaboration: Collaboration is the cornerstone of success. As major economies, both India and the UK can come together and bring in shared experiences to address global warming. The role of advocacy—increased awareness—is vital for any meaningful exercise. In fact, developmental partnerships over the past decade have enabled India to emerge as a climate leader on the global stage. • Emerging Economies: While greater efforts are required to mainstream clean energy in developing economies, sustainable finance and the role of the multilateral order continue to play crucial roles. Indeed, an integrated approach between the global north and south can go a long way in magnifying the impact. • Sustainable Finance: With blended finance emerging as an important area, scaling up innovation and cultivating multipronged strategies have become ever more important toward standardising projects, delivery, and transparency. • Next Frontiers: Effective collaboration across borders can triple the chances of current targets, including with green hydrogen. Standing on the back of significant advancements, such as recycling technologies, the circular economy becomes equally important. • Artificial Intelligence: AI is a game changer. While the world looks at downstream solutions, the UK emerges as a key player. For India, there are advanced data centres that can contribute to climate technology—the 4IR—and RE transitions. But as with big tech, the role of governments toward regulation becomes ever more important. Over the years, ReNew’s convenings, in partnership with likeminded institutions, globally, have emerged as key to bringing diverse stakeholders under one roof, advancing relationships, and enabling inclusive, impact-oriented discussions. #GreenGrowth #NextFrontier #ClimateFinance #AI #ClimateTech #EmergingEconomies Ministry of External Affairs, India Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) MoEF&CC COP29 Azerbaijan British High Commission in India London Climate Action Week UN Climate Change

Two years ago, in June, ReNew, in partnership with UN Environment Programme and Self Employed Women's Association, introduced the Project Surya initiative to retrain women saltpan workers, working in challenging and extreme temperatures at Rann of Kutch marshes, as clean energy technicians. The program aims to bring women, who face hardship in a traditional livelihood and earn meager income, into the heart of the clean energy transition to better lives and bring them to the forefront of the fight against climate change. Over 140 countries and a majority of global companies have pledged to achieve net zero. A pressing issue, however—greenwashing—looms large. With instances surging by 35% in the last year, greenwashing can damage reputations, increase legal issues, lead to misallocation of resources, and potentially stall progress on sustainability. The requirements of the hour include robust governance, transparent disclosures, and third-party verification. Businesses must ensure ‘genuine claims’.
