AMD Strix Point CPUs for Mini-PCs To Reportedly Launch in August 2024 - Technology

AMD, known for its CPU and GPU solutions, is reportedly gearing up to launch its next-gen Ryzen CPUs for Mini-PCs in August 2024. The claim comes from the owner of a Mini-PC manufacturing company who states that AMD’s launch of their next-gen Ryzen CPU will be followed up by their company’s products based on it, somewhere in October 2024.

Aoostar owner Liang, replying to a question on Discord about next-gen Ryzen PC coming out, said that AMD will launch its next-gen CPUs in August. The Mini-PC company expects its products to arrive around October. The big brand will be launched in August, and we estimate it will be around October", wrote AOOSTAR-Liang on Discord. VideoCardz highlights that the next-gen CPU being referred to here is likely a Ryzen mobile CPU instead of the Strix Point series. This is more plausible as well, given that we’re talking about Mini-PCs here and about a company that has yet to make a desktop PC.

It has also been reported that the Strix Point mobile processor family might feature faster 50 AI TOPS-class NPU to aid Microsoft Copilot+ devices and boost CPU performance, thanks to the upcoming Zen 5 architecture.

This claim from Aoostar suggests that the new Ryzen processors will also include a new next-gen CPU for Mini-PCs while offering processors for laptops, tablets, and perhaps handheld gaming devices as well. The rumoured Ryzen CPUs are believed to be introducing the new Zen 5 architecture and will most likely launch in the second half of 2024.

However, there have been no such announcements from AMD for its next-gen Zen 5 architecture CPUs launch yet, but we might hear about it soon during the AMD keynote which will take place at Computex 2024 on June 3 at 7 am IST.
