Barbara and I met in August 2023 to begin her tinnitus treatment journey. She was experiencing impactful tinnitus, describing her life as stressful, depressing, and filled with anxiety about her noise. She and I spoke about Lenire by Neuromod Devices and determined she was a candidate. After training, Barbara was the first patient I fit with Lenire in March 2024. We both were excited and optimistic to walk this new journey together. As a tinnitus provider, I am very protective of my patients. When I first heard of Lenire, I was optimistic, but hesitant. What if it doesn’t work? But what if it does? And it did. This week marked around fourteen weeks of treatment. She reports a decrease in overall loudness and limited fluctuations in her noise. Now, she has less stress, depression, and anxiety. She’s sleeping for the first time in years. When completing her Tinnitus Handicap Intentory (THI), she was able to circle 'no' to questions for the first time. Her THI score decreased by fifty-seven points. Together, we've regained her quality of life. Barbara, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your trust throughout this process and allowing me to share your story. Seeing you thrive has been one of the highlights of my professional career. Ultimately, your story shows us, there is hope for tinnitus.
