About the Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers finished the year as the seven seed in the NFC. However, they managed to upset the Cowboys before losing to the 49ers the following week. Head coach Matt LeFleur is entering his fifth season on the job and probably feels as if the transition from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love is complete.
Love broke out in the second half of the season alongside his young receiving core led by Christian Watkins, Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed. A.J. Dillon will likely be the lead running back this year after Aaron Jones left for Minnesota.
Jaire Alexander and Quay Walker will be among the defensive standouts that new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley will lean on. He replaces Joe Barry who had an inconsistent run with the team over the previous couple of seasons. Although he generally had the support of his players, Barry was cited as one of the reasons why the Packers struggled in the first half of the season.
If Jordan Love is able to perform as he did last year, the Packers are likely a threat to win the division. Of course, the Lions are going to be tough to overtake while the Vikings are looking to get back on track with Sam Darnold taking over at quarterback this season.
Regardless of what they do this year, the Packers will be known as a historic franchise that has been in existence since 1920. Their chief rivals are the Vikings, Lions and Bears. The Packers and Bears have played each other since 1920. Lambeau Field is one of the most recognizable in all of sports, and it is named after legendary coach Curly Lambeau.
Vince Lombardi was also the head coach of the Packers and led the team to victories in the first two Super Bowls. Lombardi also won NFL championships in 1961, 1962 and 1965 before temporarily retiring in 1967.
