How is an Indigo Registry different from a Wish List?

Indigo registries and wish lists are similar, but you can create a Registry for a special occasion with a specific date, like a wedding or baby shower. Wish lists don't require an occasion or date, so they're a great place to save gift ideas for friends and family. 


CREATE A Registry

How do I create a Registry online?

Create your Registry in just a few easy steps after signing in or creating an Indigo account :

  1. Click the Gift icon at the top of the page followed by “Create New Registry” 
  2. Select the Occasion you are celebrating
  3. Set an Event Date
  4. Give your Registry a Name
  5. Manage privacy settings (make your Registry public or private)
  6. Include a special message that friends, and family will see

How do I create a Registry in-store?

When you visit an Indigo or Chapters store, visit the Indigobaby section where an associate will be able to walk you through the steps to create your Registry on your mobile device. Click the location pin at the top of the page to find the closest store. 

What is the difference between public and private?

Public: Anyone can search or shop your Registry.
Private: No one can search or shop your Registry unless you share the link to your Registry with them directly.

Can I update my privacy settings after my Registry has been created?

Yes, you can go into settings at any time and update your privacy settings. We recommend you build your Registry in Private mode then once complete you can change your settings to Public to make it easily searchable by friends and family.

How do I get gifts shipped to my address?

When creating a registry, you’ll be prompted to enter your shipping address. Your address will be visible to those purchasing from your registry. 
 

ADD ITEMS

Can I add items to my Registry by scanning bar codes in the store?

Yes, you can add items to your Registry by scanning the bar code in store, if you have the Indigo App on your mobile device. If you don't have the Indigo App, download it for your mobile device here.

  1. Select Search (Image icon at the bottom of the Indigo App)
  2. Select the Image icon to scan the item
  3. From the item page, select + Registry to add the item to your Registry

VIEW AND MANAGE

How do I view my Indigo Registry?

You can view and manage your Registry on Indigo.ca or on our Indigo App, available on iOS and Android devices.
You can view your Registry on Indigo.ca by selecting the Registry link to the left of your shopping cart, or select the ☰ to open the left side menu from your mobile browser.

On the Indigo App, select the Image icon at the bottom to view your wish lists and Registry. You must be signed into your Indigo.ca account to view your Registry.

How do I add items to my Indigo Registry?

You must be signed in to your account to add items to your Registry. Once signed in you will see the "+ Registry" button on product pages. Simply select the "+ Registry" button to add the desired item to your Registry. You must have created a Registry and be signed into your account to see the "+ Registry" button when shopping.

How do I update items on my Registry?

To increase or decrease the quantity requested for an item on your Registry click Edit item. Click the dropdown menu to change the quantity to let your guests know the quantity requested. 
To remove an item from your Registry, click Delete item after you’ve clicked Edit item. 

How do I know when something has been purchased off my Registry?

When a friend or family has purchased an item off your Registry, the item will be indicated with a checkmark and the quantity purchased.

If a friend or family purchases an item off your Registry online and ships the item to your Registry address, you will be sent a purchase notification email once the item has been shipped. This email will include the following details to ensure when the gift arrives you know who it is from:

  • First name, last initial of the gift giver
  • Shipping details, including expected arrival date and order number
  • Item details

Is there a way for me to indicate something has been purchased if I find out the item was purchased somewhere else?

Yes, select edit under the item and Mark as Purchased.

 

SHARE

How can I share my Registry with friends and family?

Online: When on your Registry page, click Share Registry Link to copy the link and paste into an email to easily share your Registry with friends and family.
App: When on your Registry page, select the Image icon beside the Image icon. You can then email, text or copy the link to easily share your Registry with friends and family.

How will be friends and family be able to find my Registry?

To easily share your Registry, you can copy and paste the link to your friends and family. If your Registry is public, it will be searchable by friends and family on indigo.ca or via our indigo app. They will need to search by your first and last name or by your email.

 

UPDATE

How do I update my Registry settings?

Sign in and select your Registry, and then select Manage Registry to update your Registry name, event date, special message, and privacy settings.

How do I edit my event date on my Registry?

Sign in and select your Registry, and then select Manage Registry to update your Registry name, event date, special message, and privacy settings.

 

DELETE

How do I delete or cancel my Registry?

Sign in and select the Registry that you would like to delete. Go to Manage Registry and then select Delete Regsistry. 

How long will my Registry be available on Indigo.ca?

Your Registry will be available on Indigo.ca until you delete it.

 

RETURNS

Can I return a Registry item if I've lost gift receipt or packing slip?

Registry items can be returned to store without receipt, within 90 days of the Registry event, for in-store credit. You may be asked to show proof of Registry.

There are some items that are final sale for safety, health and hygienic reasons. Click for a full list of items that cannot be returned.

FIND A Registry

How do I find a Registry online?

To find a Registry online enter their first and last name or email address on the Find A Registry page. Only registries that are public will appear when searched.
On App, use the Image icon to access the LISTS area. From there, select the FIND tab, and search by first and last name or by email address. Only registries that are public will appear.

How do I find a Registry in-store?

if the Registry is PUBLIC, you can look it up on the Indigo App, indigo.ca. on your mobile device or ask an associate for help.

If the Registry is PRIVATE, you will require a link from the Registrant to be able to look it up in-store. To respect Registrant's privacy, our associates can only assist with a Private Registry if the link to the Registry is provided.  

PURCHASE FROM A Registry

How do I make purchases from a Registry online?

When you're ready to buy, add items to your cart right from a Registry by selecting the Add to Bag button.

How will the recipient know the gift is from me?

If you purchase an item off a Registry online and ship the item directly to the Registrant’s address, the Registrant will be sent a purchase notification email once the item has been shipped. This email will include the following details to ensure when the gift arrives the Registrant knows who it is from: 

  • Your first name and last initial 
  • Shipping details, including expected arrival date and order number 
  • Item details

If I buy something in-store, does it get marked as purchased on the Registry automatically?

When purchasing Registry items in store, it will not update automatically on the site.  For assistance to mark something as purchased, please contact Customer Service.
NOTE: Once an item has been marked as purchased it can't be put back on the list by anyone but the Registrant.
 

Am I able to send a gift receipt?

When purchasing Registry items online or on the Indigo App, you can request a gift receipt at checkout. You will be emailed a gift receipt, which you can then forward on to the Registrant.

If you choose to ship a gift directly to the Registrant’s address, the purchase notification email they receive can also be used as a gift receipt.

If you're in-store, you can request a gift receipt for your Registry purchase at checkout.

Can I have my gift wrapped?

For in-store purchases, let the associate know this is for a Registry gift and they will let you know the gift wrap options.

Can I include a free personal message with the gift?

At this time, you are not able to add personal messages to an order.  You can request a gift receipt during checkout, and forward that to the recipient with your message. 

What information is included on a gift-order packing slip? Will my recipient see the price?

The order ships with a packing slip that lists items only, not prices. The packing slip includes:

  • The recipient's name
  • Shipping address
  • Items included in the shipment

Can I ship Registry purchases to a store?

Registry items can be shipped to store at no cost. Some exclusions apply. Click here to learn more. Please note that ship to store orders are held for 7 days for pickup and are automatically returned after that time.

What tax rate am I charged for Registry purchases?

If the items on the Registry are shipped within Canada, PST, GST and HST are added to the items as applicable, as well as shipping charges.
