UI Designer / Artist

HypeHype Inc. (previously Frogmind) is an award-winning independent mobile games studio from Helsinki founded in 2012. We are best known for our games: BADLAND series, Badland Brawl and Rumble Stars series which have garnered over 180 million players and have won multiple industry awards.

Our new ambitious goal is to enable anyone to become a game maker in the same way YouTube & TikTok did with video creators. We are building a new social user-generated content platform for creating, remixing and playing online games with a mobile phone, tablet or desktop. HypeHype (currently in early access) offers all the tools for making modern games and takes game creation from months of complex PC development to just hours of visual editing on the go.

We are looking for a UI Designer / Artist to join our team to help create awesome, simple and intuitive UI for the creators and players of HypeHype.

You will get to influence the look and feel of the HypeHype application that will reach millions of players and game makers. Each member of the team has plenty of influence, and thus needs to be great at what they do. We expect you to have a strong experience of UI design, and expect you to enjoy learning new things, get a kick out of finding ways to do things better, and have a dynamic can-do- attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Design wireframes, flow charts and/or paper prototypes to illustrate general layout, functionality and product flow for both web and mobile experiences
• Work with the team to identify and implement improvements to the UI and UX
• Take ownership in the user experience design process and maintain open communication with the rest of the team to push the quality of the product
• Export art assets and coordinate with devs to integrate them into the product
• Work on an ambitious project with an experienced and awesome team

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ years experience in UX/UI Design with a focus on mobile & web
• Good understanding of user-centered design principles
• Proficiency working with designer tools such as Figma / Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and disciplines
• Capable of quick iteration on designs while still maintaining strong attention to detail
• A proven ability to take a creative and holistic view of UX problems to help drive design decisions
• Knowledge of Flutter is a plus (as it helps to bring Figma stuff directly to code)
• A passion for games and problem solving
• Strong communication skills
