Fallout 76 – Tales from The West Virginia Hills Curse of the Wendigo! Video

It has been said that money is the root of all evil. So when greed knows no bounds and avarice goes unchecked, what other appetites might take hold? Curse of the Wendigo! chews over this very question.

wendigo colossus[]

how do you know thats a variant of wendigo do you have proof Springtrap1128 (talk) 12:37, July 28, 2019 (UTC)

"Wendigo colossus" was name dropped during the Quakecon 2019 Fallout 76 Panel. It may be an entirely new enemy type for enemy lists and such, but it is related in name to wendigos. Similarly to how the Mirelurk page covers regular mirelurks, mirelurk hunters, mirelurk queens, mirelurk kings and the hatchlings/mirelurk spawns even though they all vary in height, shape, and gameplay attributes. Pre-War Wendigo[]

Maggie Williams mentions that her father Earle Williams was trapped in Monongah mine in January of 2076. He's later encountered as a Wendigo colossus, having eaten other Monongah townspeople who were trapped in the mine with him. Do we have any idea how he was turned into a wendigo from there? It was a coal mine, Hornwright used robots to mine the remaining minerals, and from what I can tell conventional (not nuclear) explosives were used to seal it. A creature identified as him is found, but there are also further records from the townspeople trapped inside, detailing the slow transformation of everyone inside due to cannibalism and isolation. However, they did have stores of supplies that may have assisted in expanding their lifespan until the Great War, among robots like Auto-Miners, what seems to be a Motherlode, and Utility Protectrons. That being said, the mine seems to have constant stores of radiation, such as toxic water, as well as radioactive barrels. As well as the radioactive collapses that occur once the fight begins. From what can be discerned by the histories and factors of other Wendigoes, it seems the same factors of isolation, radioactivity, and consumption of human flesh were responsible in the creation of the Wendigo Spawn, as well as that of the formation of the beast identified as Earle Williams. That all being said, the title of the section is a bit of a misnomer, as the first Wendigo was Morris Stevens, known as, and identified in-game as, the progenitor wendigo. Kind of what I'm getting at, as regardless of if it is or isn't actually Earle Williams no one in that mine had any contact with Morris Stevens or anyone else up from over a year before the War up until the mines reopening.Aiden4017 (talk) 05:17, September 7, 2020 (UTC)
