The note can be found in Carleton Mine, on top of a machine in a side room while walking down the tracks past the engine room.

I finally stopped the turrets in the next room from firing on every random critter that runs by.

Now they'll only activate when I press the red button.

I'll be leaving on my own terms - not some damned rat's.
