Edwin is a raider gang leader located somewhere in or near Appalachia.

Background[]

Edwin led a smaller, but notable raider gang that included his niece Ronny, Beckett, and Bronx. Despite leading a gang, Edwin is known to be quite a "good guy" (if a little unstable) and well liked - so much so that Beckett refuses to even consider assassinating him.[1]

Edwin's gang and the Blood Eagles are long-running enemies, beginning when the Eagles killed, skinned, and ate a cat which was Edwin's favorite pet at the time before sending the cat's bloody pelt back to Edwin in a sack.[2] Their enticement of his gang's members, such as Beckett, has only worsened their relationship.

Edwin and his gang were among those who traveled to Appalachia following rumors of treasure and the general subsidization of the Scorched Plague around 2103.

Events of Wastelanders[]

By the time the Vault Dweller from Vault 76 rescues Beckett during Narrow Escape, Edwin has had many setbacks. In order to gain his trust as an ally against the Blood Eagles, these setbacks must be reversed.

His personal diary was stolen by Beckett as a way to impress the Blood Eagles - it will need to retaken during Dirty Little Secrets. The key to his cache was stolen by a former member of his gang, Bronx, in an effort to discredit Edwin - it will need to be taken back during Out of Key and Bronx killed during Traitor's Demise. Finally, his "dog" Noodles had been kidnapped by a local cult - the "dog" must be rescued during Pet Peeve.

While his items are being returned, Edwin's health gradually worsens, likely as a result of staying near the Ash Heap,[3] and needs a Miss Nanny robot to take care of him - which can be found during Bot of Gold. In return, his niece and other members of his gang agree to help Beckett fight the Claw in the Watoga Underground during Thicker Than Water. Once the Claw is dealt with, Ronny declares herself leader of the gang and ensures Edwin has a nice retirement.

Appearances[]

Edwin is mentioned only in Fallout 76, introduced in the Wastelanders update.

References[]

  1. Vault Dweller: "Why don't we just kill Edwin so Ronny takes his place?"
Beckett: "First of all, that's evil. You know. Like evil. Edwin is a good guy, he's a little... mushy in places, but he's fine. Secondly, that's Ronny's uncle. She actually loves him. Do you think she would be happy with that? Come on. Geez."
    (Beckett's dialogue)
  2. Vault Dweller: "How does Edwin feel about the Blood Eagles?"
Beckett: "Oh, they have a bit of a history."
Beckett: "Edwin used to walk around with this giant fat cat perched on his shoulder. He loved that cat. I bet you can guess what the Blood Eagles did, right?"
Beckett: "That's right. They stole his cat, skinned it, and cooked it for dinner. Then they sent the bloody pelt back to Edwin in a sack. Classy, right?"
    (Beckett's dialogue)
  3. Vault Dweller: "How did Edwin get so sick?"
Beckett: "I'm not sure. His health has gone downhill since coming to Appalachia, probably because he insisted on hanging around the Ash Heap."
    (Beckett's dialogue)
