Daniel Whitby was a man who lived in Harpers Ferry.
Background[]
In 2072, Daniel and J. Seamore told the Berkeley Springs Police Department that they knew the real identity of "Shanghai Sally," an alleged Chinese spy.[1]
Sometime between when the Free States arrived to rebuild Harpers Ferry and the winter of 2082, Daniel came down with an illness. He was thought to be under observation by Lucy Harwick while recovering from the flu. When it was discovered that Daniel had become a sentient ghoul, and that Lucy had been hiding his condition while attempting to find a cure, she was forced to flee town and Daniel was placed in quarantine.[2] The nature of ghouls was a relative unknown in the years shortly following the war, leading some citizens, like Sharon, to fear the possibility that his condition was contagious, while others believed that his condition was a result of what the war had done to the world. Regardless of their disagreement on the cause of his condition, many in Harpers Ferry wanted him exiled, either alone or with the recently arrived Maria Chavez and the Responders from Charleston.[3][4]
