William James Basie (August 21, 1904 - April 26, 1984), better known as Count Basie, was an American bandleader and pianist. Getting his start in the hub of American jazz music that was Kansas City in the early 1930s, he would go on to lead his own orchestra for over 50 years and enjoyed success during the 1930s and 1940s. A number of musicians got their start playing in Basie's orchestra, and his musical style (largely influenced by "boogie boogie") innovated in the genre of jazz and big band.

Fallout 76[]

Count Basie and His Orchesta recorded the instrumental song "Jumpin' at the Woodside" in 1938, which plays on Appalachia Radio in Fallout 76.
