Hi! This is my/Ottoman Hold's talk page! If you want to leave a message, consider the following:

  • Is it important? For the most part, unless if it's spam, chances are it is.
  • Leave a good title. If you don't leave one, I'll have to remove myself from my moderator duties to create a title; the same goes if the title is bad.
  • Please leave a signature after each message. Hopefully, the warning before you edit is a hint to do so.
  • Also, if you're reading this, then ask yourself this question: do you have the time to leave a message? If you've answered yes and accomplished the above steps, then you're ready to go: do it!

Community Roundtable[]

Hello! We recently sent an email to your registered email account about a community roundtable event. We'd love to know if you're going to be able to make it. There's a link in the email to respond and RSVP if you're interested! Hope to see you there! HeyTots FandomStaff.png (Contact) 15:37, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Vandal[]

Hi! I wanted to let you know that this user, 135.26.123.185 (https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/135.26.123.185), has left a condescending comment on the page in brackets (https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Console_Commands_(Skyrim)/Skills) regarding an edit that you made. This is what he wrote: "This is in English. "allows player to" is not correct English. If you think it's "fine", you do not speak English well enough to make that statement." If I were reading that comment, I would believe that the person who wrote it is insulting me. You might want to investigate and ban that person, if you deem it necessary. I have reported that user on the page 'Vandalism in progress'.Spirit Slasher (talk) 03:34, 4 September 2023 (UTC)

IMHO, rudeness aside, the anon is correct. It should be either "players" or "the player" to be correct. GreyFox's edit, which walks around the problem, is correct, also. DaBarkspawn (talk) 05:50, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
The original version is probably a sentence fragment and is not ideal, though I have seen fragments used in tables all over the place. For instance, a related structure is to say "was found doing jumping jacks" where the subject of the sentence (let's say "he") is omitted and assumed by what the row/column is referring to (though this is not the same thing but somewhat akin to this). I think in this case, the fragment is caused because there is not an article before it, thus it becomes clunky. I think the original version is not the worst, but I do think that a fix is ideal because it sounds a bit weird (unlike when there are fragments omit the subject, which is to save time as long as it can be easily assumed). The anon's change makes an article unnecessary, though I prefer adding "the" to it like GreyFox did since unless we are playing Skyrim Together, there is only one player in the game. That being said, I agree that the statement to Rupuzioks in the edit summary was far too hostile and does not assume good faith; it could be ban-worthy if this became routine, though since the anon has only done so once, I don't think it is necessary to ban them as of yet. GreyFox is an admin with ban powers, so it seems he deemed this was not too much of an overstep; I agree with the decision since this was only a singular instance of this. I'll address something minor on Spirit Slasher's page directly since it does not involve Debarkspawn. Thanks, you two! Ottoman Hold Message Me My Action 15:23:04 September 04, 2023

RE: LGBTQ[]

Hello Ottoman,

I think my original point still stands - it remains speculative in nature. Whether one personally agrees with it or not is a different matter. Eduard is the sole thing keeping him connected to the Guild due to his mother's coddling.

Especially in regards to the last segment; "This is exactly what I need." would refer to Donton finally being allowed on a job with the Guild member he actually has some form of a bond with - Eduard. That does not need to be romantically.

The claim on Donton's own page is sufficient, or perhaps a trivia header for this, but mentioning it as explicitly like that on the page is difficult to justify when other people speculating on different matter would not get the same treatment.

FWIW, this LGBTQ person thinks they are/were lovers. DaBarkspawn (talk) 15:18, 4 October 2023 (UTC)
If you want to keep it on there, go ahead and edit it back in. I'm not going to. I maintain the belief that it's more suited for the trivia section, but if you think it goes there, go right on ahead.

Favorite Game[]

Morrowind remains my favorite game, I am more attached to my Nerevarines than I am to my Heroes of Kvatch or my Dragonborn. This does require holding aside things like graphics and technology, but as far as writing, characters, plot and lore, MW stands head and shoulders above the rest. DaBarkspawn (talk) 13:45, 28 May 2024 (UTC)

Hey, I'm in the job market too! The company I worked for went bankrupt. XD I actually like Skyrim better than Oblivion (except Shivering Isles, which is excellent), so my ordering is Morrowind, Skyrim, Oblivion. I tried playing Arena for a bit and bounced hard: first the player controls are awkward and not WASD and also the pure random generation and regeneration of everything gave me this feeling of futility, nothing ever 'cleared'. Anyway, I got to your page because somewhere before I added something to your talk page and so it wound up on my notifications list. So, I got an email from your change yesterday, which is what sparked me to talk about favorite games. DaBarkspawn (talk) 16:47, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
