The TESWiki Discord Server is an asynchronous chat-based method of communication hosted off-site by Discord. Originally created by RenzXVI on September 7, 2016 as an unofficial alternative to the Chat, a social gathering place for wiki users, it was made an official part of the wiki on December 7, 2019.[1][2][3]

You can join the Discord server if you have a Discord account.

Rules and guidelines[]

Server information[]

This is the official Discord server for The Elder Scrolls Wiki, hosted by Wikia, Inc, being operated by wiki staff. It exists primarily to facilitate wiki editing and knowledge-sharing, and secondarily as a social space.

Server rules[]

  • ◘ NSFW (not safe for work) content is disallowed. This includes violence, pornography, excessive profanity, and otherwise offensive content.
  • ◘ Do not make personal attacks toward or about anyone (or a group to which they belong) based on their nationality, ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, interests, sociological factors (spelling, grammar, intellect, etc), psychological state (mental illnesses), or physical appearance. This is not a complete list.
  • ◘ Do not intentionally perpetuate harmful stereotypes or spread misinformation, directly or otherwise. In general, do not use language that is commonly recognized as insulting or offensive. If someone asks you to stop doing or saying something that makes them uncomfortable, please just be courteous and listen.
  • ◘ No trolling, spamming, or advertising.
  • ◘ All bot commands should only be used in #bot-matrix. Memes should be kept to #offtopic.
  • ◘ English is the only language allowed in most channels. You may use other languages in #international only.
  • ◘ Please keep all information in the correct channel. If a moderator asks you move to a different channel, please do so.
  • ◘ Bad-faith interactions are discouraged. Please do not be purposely dense or start drama, as this is disruptive to conversation. You are expected to approach all discussions here by assuming good faith and imagining others complexly.

Punishments[]

  • ◘ Any misbehaving user will be dealt with at the discretion of the server's staff members. Do not attempt to weasel out of a violation if you are warned; if you express toxic sentiments in any capacity, you will be punished. Being banned on the server corresponds directly to a Chat ban on TESWiki proper. A block on the wiki will also result in a ban from this server. Any and all behavior on the server may be taken into account when determining the severity of wiki punishments, and vice versa.

Verification[]

  • ◘ Verification signifies that a user has a wiki account, but is not required. Users can request verification by pinging a staff member, telling them their wiki username, and then posting their Discord tag on their wiki profile. Afterward, you will be given the "verified members" role. A list of verified members can be found at https://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/TES:Discord.

Pronoun roles[]

  • ◘ Users may add one or more pronoun roles to themselves with the ?rank command in #bot-matrix only. The available pronoun role commands are ?rank He/Him, ?rank She/Her, and ?rank They/Them. Please respect other people's pronouns, or you may be kicked!
