When chosen correctly, page builders can be used (with minimal effort) to build a sleek, high-converting website. But with so many to choose from, how do you know which page builder is the best?
Here’s my list of the best page builders for WordPress.
1. Elementor page builder
Of course, we have to start off with Elementor. It’s one of the best free options in terms of visual page builders. Though they offer a paid, Pro version, the free version doesn’t disappoint.
It offers the ability to start from scratch or choose from pre-built page templates. Users get detailed control over every element and detail on their pages. Choose from more than 80 design elements and widgets to optimize your page for lead generation and for sales pages.
With Elementor Pro, you get a visual form builder, which you can use to create forms in front of the visual page builder interface. Create regular contact forms or email opt-ins that connect to MailPoet or MailChimp.
Another Pro feature is Embed Anywhere. As it sounds, allows users to embed Elementor layouts in any area of your site, including sidebar and footer, using shortcodes or widgets.
Additionally, Pro comes with tons of extra templates, enough to design an entire website.
Elementor is one of the most popular page builders because of its ease of use – the drag and drop editing is a huge time saver. They focus on offering features that set them apart from the competition, and at a competitive price – starting at just $49 for Pro.

2. Divi website builder
Divi is what is known as a “what you see is what you get” (WYSIWYG) builder – meaning that you’re previewing what your website will look like as you build it.
It includes 46 simple content elements, including pricing tables and testimonials, which you can organize any way you choose. It offers 20 layout templates as well as allowing you to create and save your own layouts to your Divi Builder Library. This allows users to import or export the layouts to use elsewhere.
Divi has a unique user interface, which can take some time to adjust to. It is also somewhat costly, at $89 per year. However, by buying this builder, you also get access to all Elegant Themes’ premium products, which is Divi’s parent company.

3. Beaver Builder
Beaver Builder is, quite possibly, the best page builder for beginners. It has an extremely user-friendly frontend visual editor so users can see a real-time preview as they are designing. This means it is a WYSIWYG builder.
It’s known for being one of the best landing page plugins – users can drag and drop content modules, edit, and create a landing page quickly. Modules are ready-to-use but can be easily customized.
Choose from 30 professionally designed templates, simply edit sample text and content.
Beaver Builder allows users to choose which devices modules appear on – making it easy to translate a webpage from desktop to smartphone. This builder has a free and paid version. With the paid version, you can install it on unlimited sites for just $99.

4. Thrive Architect
Another WYSIWYG builder, Thrive Architect allows you to build your webpage with a preview of how the website will look to your viewers. It’s best known as a builder for conversion-focused sites.
This builder includes lots of elements to support marketing and sales, like call to action buttons, pricing tables, and social proof tools.
With 271 different landing page templates (and counting), it’s safe to say that the team behind Thrive Architect strive to continue to bring value to their users.
To get Thrive Architect, you need to buy a Thrive Suite membership. Other programs in their suite include Thrive Leads (for lead generation) and Thrive Apprentice (for creating online courses).

5. Gutenberg
Gutenberg is the default WordPress editor and it uses block editing to arrange elements. It allows you to easily add custom content styles by dragging and dropping elements, like the other builders mentioned here.
It does have its limitations – you cannot adjust the width or height of blocks, or add blocks within other blocks.
Gutenberg is great for content layout, but page design is better left to more advanced builders. It also is a backend editor, meaning you cannot see what your webpage will look like until you preview it. Styling and formatting options are limited.
No offense to the WordPress default editor Gutenberg, but it lags behind the powerful design options available with page builders.
Additionally, it’s not necessarily designed to help users excel with marketing or conversion.
Since Gutenberg is the default WordPress editor, it is free. Though it isn’t anything particularly spectacular, it is a clean and understandable interface that allows you to customize your page as you see fit.

6. SeedProd
SeedProd is easy to use and has a clean, organized user interface. Anyone can start using this builder with no prior technical knowledge. Choose from over 100 landing page templates which include opt-in, sales, webinar, and coming soon. Customization is simple and straightforward. Users can integrate the landing page with email marketing services like Mailchimp and ConvertKit.
This builder offers a free version. You can upgrade to the premium version for $39.50 per year.

7. Visual Composer
This builder is great for complete beginners, as it offers a WYSIWYG experience. Users can easily edit and customize by directly clicking on any area they want to change. While there is a free version of Visual Composer available, you can upgrade and get all the features to build your website for $64.

Themify is a free builder, but, like most others, to get the fully loaded, advanced version you will have to pay $39 for an add-on bundle.

9. SiteOrigin
SiteOrigin allows users to build column-based content easily. Choose the exact number of rows desired for each column by using the advanced row builder. It works seamlessly with any existing WordPress widgets and themes you might have. SiteOrigin is responsive, meaning it works on any screen type or resolution.
SiteOrigin is completely free, which is one of the reasons it is so popular. With that price tag, you can expect some drawbacks. This builder cannot compete with the diversity of elements that other, paid builders include.
