Why celebrate Earth Day, when you might as well have a full Earth Week? 🌍 That’s what our Green Committee 💚 , our employee initiative for more sustainability, asked themselves. As a result, they organized a week full of green and sustainable activities to show the studio how much everyone can contribute to a greener future. 🌳 From info sessions, a flea market, a green board game night and upcycling / repair DIY workshops, to a cleanup of the neighborhood park and a BBQ as final get-together – our studio was fully engulfed in the spirit of the Earth Day. 🌻 As a company, we always search for new ways to work towards more sustainability. Therefore, we not only support initiatives like our Green Committee, but also work on looking at ways our development can contribute to a greener future. During the Earth Day Game Jam 🎮 , teams from Ubisoft studios around the globe, including our German studios, came together to work on ideas for promoting positive environmental messages in games. As a studio, we are committed to keep adapting - improving our waste management as well as our energy consumption. Last year, we switched to green energy. And we’re excited to see what else we can do in the future to do our part.
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming the NRW Deputy Minister President resp. Economic Minister Mona Neubaur for a visit to our Studio in Düsseldorf. The Minister and Benedikt Grindel, Managing Director of the German Ubisoft studios, discussed games development and its framework conditions in our state. Their exchange also touched upon economic framework conditions for game development in North Rhine-Westphalia. Computer science meets media design in the development of computer- and video games. Technological innovation and creativity happen together. Our workforce in Düsseldorf is diverse, with a wide variety of professions. Half of the employees have come to Düsseldorf from abroad. Their knowledge is also valuable for the local industry. Among other things, the studio is involved in various mentoring formats that support start-ups and students.

Together with our partner Fusion Campus, we will unleash that special potential with the inaugural edition of the Fusion Campus x Ubisoft Düsseldorf Community Cup. Together, we want to build bridges between gamers, industry members, as well as their friends and families. The Community Cup is a special event designed to connect like-minded fans of gaming for a fun networking experience – everybody is invited. And you can win some Anno 1800 keys! We have joined the Düsseldorfer #Klimapakt (Climate Pact) as part of the local business community. The municipal initiative driven by Düsseldorf's economic development team (Wirtschaftsförderung Düsseldorf) is a wonderful addition to our contribution to Ubisoft's #PlayGreen. We benefit at our location from the experience of a great network, a Green Committee, and various activities and events (such as local city clean-ups, company bikes, flea markets, sustainability awareness days or repair workshops) to achieve our environmental goals at our studio. As the newest climate partner, we had the honor to host the latest network event at our premises, welcoming over 70 representatives of Düsseldorf's companies and institutions as well as Dr. Stephan Keller, Mayor of Düsseldorf.
