#ALDInews | ALDI launches new merch collection 👕    Summer is finally in full swing and the holidays are just around the corner. The perfect time to get ready for festivals, camping or the beach. Of course, this also calls for a trendy outfit! The good news for all ALDI fans: Our new ALDI merch collection is available in three of our ALDI Nord countries.    🙌 The collection consists of clothing and accessories featuring our iconic ALDI logo and the stylish blue and white pattern. From sports socks, flip-flops, t-shirts and sweatshirts to beach towels and festival must-haves such as rain capes, waist bags and shoulder bags – everything you need to complete your look. With our eye-catchers, it will be an unforgettable summer.    🛒 Selected items from our merch collection are available in Belgian, Dutch and German stores – as long as stock lasts. You can find the products on the shelves of our ALDI Belgium shops since last week. In ALDI Nederland, the collection will be on sale from Saturday (6 July) and in Germany, the beach towels, flip-flops and sport socks will be available from mid-July.    𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 #𝗔𝗟𝗗𝗜𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 📸 To promote the merch collection, ALDI in Belgium decided to let the pictures speak for themselves. #ALDIresponsible | New timber construction method protects the climate and saves costs   The ALDI Nord Group relies on building new, free-standing and reusable stores with wood. This type of construction saves around 120 tons of CO2 per building project*. In France and Germany, around 80 ALDI stores of this type are already open or under construction. Since the opening of the first timber construction store in Germany in 2020, the number is growing.      ♻ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆   When it comes to building, the ALDI Nord Group relies on its proven values: simple, responsible and reliable. As an environmentally sustainable material, wood is a perfect fit. It is easier and quicker to assemble, saving around four weeks of construction time thanks to prefabricated elements that are assembled on site. This allows the entire structure and wall elements to be reused. Timber components can be dismantled without damage and easily reused in another building. This is good for the environment and saves money over the entire lifetime of the store.    🌳 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴  Building with wood not only conserves resources, it is renewable, durable and provides a healthy indoor environment. It also protects the climate by using significantly less energy than other building materials such as brick, steel or cement. How is this possible? Using wood as a building material reduces greenhouse gases in the atmosphere because wood products are CO2 sinks. What does this mean? They store the carbon that the tree from which they were made took out of the atmosphere. The usage of a timber construction is part of our CO2 reduction strategy, which includes: avoid the usage of fossil energy sources, the use of PV panels on the roof, the use of natural refrigerants and LED lighting in combination with an energy management system.    *compared to a solid construction store #aldinordgroup #sustainability #construction #wood #newstore

#ALDIpower | The #ALDIcrew collectively completes 2000 kilometers at the 14th Essen company run 👟 Last week, around 400 ALDI colleagues challenged themselves with a 5-kilometer run through downtown Essen and a grand finale in the Gruga Park. As the event traditionally has huge popularity within ALDI, the sought-after spots were fully taken after just a few days.  🎽 Armed with our iconic running shirts and a whole lot of #ALDIspirit our runners proved their #ALDIpower on the track, with hundreds of fans at the sidelines cheering them on. At the finish line they were rewarded with snacks and cold drinks and an after-run get together at the ALDI tent. #ALDIpower | This was our Campus summer festival 2024 🌴 A great party spirit, lots of sportsmanship, exciting prices at our raffle and, above all, a wonderful atmosphere: This sumps up the success of this year’s summer festival at our Campus in Essen.   🍦 Besides sportive activities in a free throw area, in the rodeo arena or on the dance floor - more than 2,800 sausages, 2,100 waffles and 750 liters of freshly tapped beverages were handed out at our booths. In addition, we served more than 800 portions of mac & cheese and 1,500 ice creams – everything made from our ALDI products. 🙌 A special thanks to the generosity of all members from the #ALDIcrew, who participated in our give away and bought raffle tickets! With your engagement we were able to raise around 6,000 euros for charity this year.   And, of course, a shout out goes to the team that once again organised the summer festival as well as the many volunteers who sold raffle tickets, handed out prices and served at the drink booths.
