Hey HR and HR Tech folks….. Regarding some “guardrails”  for AI usage: today (Monday, June 10) France’s President Macron announced 500 million euros ($543 million) in new funding to "create champions" in AI and praised projects targeting French speakers, as concern grows about Silicon Valley firms fueling English-language domination of AI systems.  In the US, at the Federal level AI guardrail initiatives and monies have been announced by President Biden. BUT – in the private sector, every company is doing their own thing, and with little or no consistency or overlap within industry sectors. A survey of 10,000 office workers (conducted by “SLACK”) found that employees and senior execs both see a range of benefits from AI tools. But a lack of clear guidelines around their use is slowing experimentation and creating potential risks to corporate data. Even as more and more office workers access AI-based tools in their jobs, employers have been slow to issue guidance on how to use the technology effectively, fairly and safely. At the same time, senior leaders are keen for their employees to access these AI tools: 81% of executives that took part in the survey feel “some urgency” to roll out tools within their organizations. Still, many businesses have yet to provide their workers with direction around how to use AI tools in their jobs. Almost half (43%) of Slack survey respondents said they have received no guidance from their bosses on how to use AI. (https://lnkd.in/e6BCanQ2) So, an idea… why not ask the latest iterations of AI to get companies started in laying the ground rules? In some of our recent findings, 96% of employers said their recruiting teams have a focus on improving candidate experience. Yet less than half (48%) are actually measuring it. You can’t improve what you don’t measure and you can’t set the correct levels of measurement without benchmarking. Remember that you are looking to create a "competitive" candidate experience and you can only do this by understanding the candidate experience in your competition. Remember: Candidates can only accept one offer and 50% will choose this based on "the way the employer made me feel". Only 19% will choose based on salary & 31% based on the role.
