“Working with Ian on the Lazarus project was an amazing experience and made me truly admire him. Ian was about my age, and we were both students at that time, yet it was obvious that this man would get very far in his career. He had a clear vision, he displayed incredible organisational skills, he managed to acquire excellent team members from around the globe for just about every department *and* actually made them deliver what they were capable of! He was as professional as one could possibly be; his personality and dedication were such that everyone trusted him and gave his or her best for the project. I noticed that people would usually stay motivated and do a great job even when they disagreed with Ian over something; he somehow had this remarkable way of engaging people. After all those years, I still look back proudly at the result of our collective achievement: a professional-quality fan game that was completed thanks to Ian, who is a living testimony that team leadership matters.”
