Last week we celebrated the #TrilliumBookAwards in Toronto. The ceremony marked our 37th year of recognizing the immense talent within Ontario's literary community. This year, A. Light Zachary's MORE SURE (Arsenal Pulp Press) won the Trillium Book Award for Poetry, Nicolas Weinberg's VIVRE OU PRESQUE (Les Éditions L'Interligne) won the #PrixTrillium, and Nina Dunic's THE CLARION (Invisible Publishing) won the Trillium Book Award. A special thank you to Heather Hiscox for hosting the ceremony, Chrystelle Maechler for hosting our red carpet interviews, and to #Oncreates Board Chair Aaron Campbell for presenting the awards. And thank you to everyone who attended the ceremony and made this memorable night one for the books!

Congratulations to Nina Dunic for winning the #TrilliumBookAward for The Clarion!   The Clarion is a funny, sad, quietly profound novel that moves us to contemplate what it means to be alive. With this luminous work, Dunic reminds us that life is not an audition. Rather, it is unfolding moment by moment in the mystical everyday.

Congratulations to Nicolas Weinberg for winning the #PrixTrillium for his book Vivre ou Presque ! La prose kafkaïenne de Nicolas Weinberg déploie des intrigues, des voix, des situations, des univers souvent angoissants, jamais banals. De cette écriture riche et maîtrisée se dégage une expérience profonde de la littérature.

Congratulations to A. Light Zachary for winning the #TrilliumBookAwards for Poetry for their book MORE SURE.   The poems in A. Light Zachary’s first collection are meditative, inviting, and wise. MORE SURE is a startling debut that demonstrates that the project of poetry and personhood are the same: to, as Zachary intones, “Free myself. / Free myself. / Free myself.”
