Our Final Four picks for March Madness 2024
There will be 68 teams competing to win the 2024 NCAA Division I tournament. While each of these teams is in with a chance, there is a long way to go to reach the Final Four. So here are those teams that we think have the best chance of going all the way:
- Houston Cougars: Houston have dominated their last four games to put in winning performances against East Carolina, Tulane, Memphis and SMU. It’s this consistency that has led the Cougars to the top of the AAC and it’s easy to see Kelvin Sampson’s team winning this year’s March Madness.
- Alabama Crimson Tide: Alabama had been having an incredible season and were many people’s favorites for the 2024 March Madness title. However, with the controversy still raging over star player Brandon Miller’s trouble with the law, it’s yet to be seen how this will affect the team’s performance in the NCAA Division I tournament.
- Kansas Jayhawks: All decent NCAA basketball Final Four predictions will have to include Kansas. After all, the Jayhawks won last year’s March Madness, and there is every chance that they could do the same this time around. Jayhawks coach Bill Self has assembled a team that is strong in most areas with a stunning record of 39 consecutive regular-season home finales. Plus with stars like Jalen Wilson more than capable of making winning plays when it counts, it’s easy to see why many people are backing Kansas once more.
- UCLA Bruins: The Bruins are on a strong run of form with consecutive wins over the likes of Colorado, Utah, California and Stanford. Now occupying first place in the Pac-12 and with their tournament history, there’s a strong chance that UCLA could have what it takes to claim a record-breaking 12th NCAA Division 1 title.
Outsiders in our Final 4 predictions for March Madness 2024
A lot can happen in the early stages of March Madness, and so there’s every chance that one of the favorites could suffer a shock early exit. In which case, we’re predicting that one of the following ‘dark horses’ could easily claim a spot in the Final Four:
- Purdue Boilermakers: While Purdue may have clinched the Big Ten title, the team doesn’t make it easy for itself as was seen in recent losses against Northwestern and Indiana.
- Arizona Wildcats: That thrilling 89-88 victory over Arizona State shows that the Wildcats can put in big performances when it matters. But whether Arizona have the consistency required to make the Final Four remains to be seen.
- Baylor Bears: Despite being just third in the Big 12, many still think that Baylor Bears could make the Final Four. Plus with Scott Drew at the helm, there’s every chance that the Bears could cause a few surprises.
- Tennessee Volunteers: Tennessee could easily be this year’s dark horses in March Madness. Anyone who saw the team’s comprehensive 75-57 win over Arkansas Razorbacks will know that the Volunteers can put in an aggressive game-winning performance. However, the team’s fourth position in the Southeastern league betrays that fact that inconsistency could be Tennessee’s downfall.
