#SharkSwim: May 2024 Recap
With the summer sunshine (basically canceled out by a healthy amount of rain) coming in, the Sharks are ready to get the summer rolling as we say farewell to May and hello to June.
We’re eager for our big plans in June, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t reflect on our successes and all the good times that May brought to the tank.
Alright, let’s dive into it. Buckle up your life jackets, folks. It’s time for the Shark Swim!
Birthdays & Anniversaries!
May was jam-packed with birthdays and anniversaries, here’s a quick run-down of all our celebrations – birthdays first!
Vanessa started the month out strong by having her birthday on May 1st, then Jack followed up by celebrating his on May 11th! This surely caused a ripple effect, because Mike celebrated his birthday on May 14th, and good ole Justin closed out the month by celebrating his golden birthday on May 25th!
Phew – you might want to mark that in your calendar for next year!
Now onto Sharkiversaries!
We celebrated Loock’s 3rd year ‘round the AdShark sun on May 17th, and Vanessa’s celebrations weren’t over yet – she hit her 1 year Sharkiversary on May 30th!
It was such a fun month celebrating everyone, and we couldn’t be more grateful for all of their contributions to the AdShark team.
Chamber Choice Awards
We were thrilled to be a Sponsor of the Chamber Choice Awards! We even got our own table, which felt like when you finally get upgraded from the kids table to the cool adult table at any family function😎
This fun event took place on May 16th, and we had the privilege of being nominated for Small Business of the Year (we didn’t win… Touchy subject😉)
But seriously, thanks again to the Chamber Choice Awards and we hope to be nominated again next year!
We Had A Ball at the Corporate Cup

AdShark was happy to participate in this year’s Corporate Cup that was put on by the FMWF Chamber! Here’s a quick run down of some events we participated in:
- Tug of rope
- Kickball
- Human foosball
- Sand volleyball (minus the sand)
- Obstacle courses
And many more!
Okay… I’m sure you’re wondering how we did, we placed 18th. BUT everyone had fun! And that has to count for something, right?!
AdShark’s May Happy Hour… at Junkyard Brewing!

This month’s happy hour was chosen by the one and only, Kate Schaefer! She made the solid choice of picking Junkyard Brewing in Moorhead, which is an overall fan favorite here at AdShark. Although Kate picked Junkyard without ever going before, I think it’s safe to say she enjoyed it!
We all soaked up the sun, drank some brews, ate a few plates of popcorn (totally recommend) and shared some laughs, of course.

Yeah, you read that right. We were finally able to convince the man, the myth, the legend himself to share his wisdom while sippin’ on a cold one. We even had a special guest appearance, but I won’t spoil that for you:)

We were blessed with the opportunity to develop the Fargo Sports Center website! Loock worked hard on designing this new site, and Mike put the vision into action by developing it!

New Sharks in the Tank!
Sharkswim New Shark Alert
We hired 2 new employees, Callie & Brier!
Callie started on May 14th as a new Creative, and has already impressed us with her creative abilities and killer volleyball skills that saved us at the Corporate Cup!
Brier started on May 20th as a new Strategist, and she has already started to take an interest in writing blogs for AdShark (yeah, I just so happen to be writing this one!)
Well, that just about does it for our Shark Swim May Recap – it was a wild one! Thanks for reading along and we will update you in July on our most favorite June memories!
