Recently got back into retro gaming (thanks, SOFTDRINKTV!) And fired up the Xbox 360 I’ve had since 2010 or so. Enjoyed the dose of nostalgia, but was not overly enthused about the blurriness from old optical cables. Realized that advances in technology made available an adapter such as this to give you a much fuller experience, and it was worth it!

Pros:

Completely streamlines the quality of the games you are playing. Even more noticeable on high-quality TV’s.

Pretty good sound enhancement.

Fit seamlessly into the 360 and had no issues getting it to work.

Quirks:
Although it provides worthy enhancements, its not perfect. There is a small bit of warping at certain times depending on what’s happening on the screen. It isn’t a deal breaker, but you will be reminded that this is a 360 you’re playing after all.

There is also occasional “ghosting” or uneven “flicker” of the image at times, but it isn’t so often that it’s a deal breaker. It’s one of those “ you get what you pay for”.

If you’re diving back into the classics on that dusty old 360 you still have, this does a good job of smoothening the experience. It’s worth it.
