About the Author

Simone Legno, who was born in Rome, Italy, is the cofounder and chief creative officer of tokidoki. Legno, who has always had a deep love of Japan and a fascination with world cultures, chose the word tokidoki because he feels “everyone waits for moments that change one’s destiny, by chance or by meeting a new person.” Legno has become a sought-after speaker around the world at museums, universities, and conferences, including at MOCA, the Adobe MAX conference, Berlin Flash Film Festival, ArtCenter College of Design, the Apple store in Osaka, Istituto Europeo di Design, STGCC, and Graphika Manila. While the company is based in Los Angeles, he recently moved to Tokyo with his family.

Pooneh Mohajer, an entrepreneur at heart who sold her first company Hard Candy Inc. to LVMH, Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA, is the cofounder and chief executive officer of tokidoki. Pooneh received her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law and her BA from Vanderbilt University. Pooneh’s passion is making a positive impact on the hearts and minds of others by sharing Simone Legno’s art and creativity with the world.

Wow I bought this mostly because I read it has so many pages. the beginning of the book, Simone tells his story. It really made me feel like I should have listened to my heart more growing up. After that bit, the book goes to show backgrounds/patterns, then sketches and paintings.... He has done so many collaborations that are towards the end of the book, which also shows various merch... I had no idea Simone had a tokidoki boat in singapore! pretty inspiring! Definitely a great buy!

 Been a fan of Simone Legno's art when I first saw the collab with LeSportsac. The art just makes me smile and happy. I didn't know about this book till recently. Didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to report that it has lots of colorful pictures. It's almost a book of posters. This is my kinda coffee table book.

I bought this for my kid who likes the figurines and likes drawing. I thought it would inspire her drawings of little imaginary animals, and that she’d enjoy looking at cute things that aren’t turned into plastic toys. I think the ladies in the pictures may actually have been turned into inflatable toys. It’s full of boudoir art that looks very: we’re going to do it, I’m paid to do it, or we just did it. It’s not what I was expecting. The drawings are kinda off-putting, very for the male gaze. In that respect it’s 80’s mall quality art. Just be aware of what it is in case you thought it was for kids. There’s many pages of densely packed words in it too, but I didn’t bother reading them. It’s going back.
