I keep pretty much all of my decks in folders (notably, this one) so go to those for a better overview of things. Suggestions welcome, especially card exclusions. (And sorry about my cluttered Maybeboards.)

For personal reasons, I don't actually play Magic, so if you try one of my decks in your meta, do tell me how it goes.

oh that error has nothing to do with the image but is because you are missing other important information in the printing section of the add/fix card form. The loss of the image uploading is just a result of browsers not being able to save that information on some redirects/reloads.

Femme_Fatale: Seems to be OK now, seeing as I could upload this image for Haystack. (Its current image is currently not visible for whatever reason.)

I was just directly saving the images from the respective cards' scryfall pages (e.g. here for Haystack), but when I then tried to hit submit after uploading the image, I was taken back to the "add-card/?name=" page, with a red error box at the top without any text, and the image I tried to upload was nowhere to be seen.

I'mma need more information on the exact image you are using how you are getting it what the error looks like etc, to be able to log that bug.

Femme_Fatale: Haha, sorry. Yeah I tried a few variations to see if it was already in the system before inputing it.

On a similar note: Whenever I tried submitting with an uploaded card image from Scryfall I got a blank error, dunno if that's intentional for copyright purposes.

pokes don't add cards with names that use special characters not on an english keyboard. Ratonhnhaké꞉ton for example should just be Ratonhnhake:ton. Luckily our system vomitted all over that submission preventing it from going through, keeping it stuck at processing.

But in noticing this I realized that I had misspelled my initial submission, which I kind of expected to happen.

No need to be coy, Screaming Nemesis was officially previewed as part of the First Look article:

legendofa & Gleeock: See, it's totally fair to say that it's believable that some plane in the vast multiverse has come up with modern technology. (I prefer "believable" over “realistic” to avoid setting of annoyingly literal people. (You know who you are.)) For me, the problem is aesthetic. It’s just hard to not make it clash with the rest of MtG:s look. Doylism over Watsonianism, so to speak. Incidentally, while I think most of the human gun cards from Portal: Second Age ook goofy (e.g. Alaborn Cavalier) l, I dislike Ixalan insisting on using hand-held crossbows instead of pistols (e.g. Storm Fleet Swashbuckler). Also, I’m fine with e.g. Kaladesh.

For new fantasy settings, I’d like to see more planes based on non-Western cultures and mythologies.

"Though razorkin don't function as a cohesive group, most of them will listen to the directives of the Lord of Pain, who claims to be the first-ever razorkin. He's only ever seen as a figure on screens throughout the House."

Yeah I don't see why he couldn't just appear in mirrors or something.

Abaques: to be fair on the latter note, Towashi Songshaper was already a thing.

But I hear you.

Gleeock @ 1): With the horror genre in mind, I actually think it was kind of a mistake to post the Planeswalker's Guide this early? I feel that the flavor of previed cards should have been allowed gradually imply the world building first, before having an entire article that explicitly explains how the plane works.

"508.1k Each chosen creature still controlled by the active player becomes an attacking creature. It remains an attacking creature until it’s removed from combat or the combat phase ends, whichever comes first. See rule 506.4."

Crow_Umbra: AFAIK we're not allowed to have that much fun since it's removed from combat and therefor no longer attacking

Extra combat cards that untap during combat lets you activate the Templars twice without them having to survive to attack again. Also, Augusta, Dean of Order  Flip and Tori D'Avenant, Fury Rider.

June 24, 2024 6:51 p.m.

Any thoughts for Templar Knight decks?

Graaz, Unstoppable Juggernaut & Akroma's Memorial pumps them so they can survive another go. (Also, Reconnaissance)

For generic immediate value, there's Bolas's Citadel , Chimil, the Inner Sun, God-Pharaoh's Statue, Mindslaver, The One Ring. Also Thrumming Stone, but it feels kinda winmore to fetch.

If you got a blue-inclusive commander that has evasion and isn't too expensive, Eagle Vision is quite efficient, and not horrible to hardcast either.

In case anyone else missed it: Naga, Viashino, and Cephalids are now Snakes, Lizards, and Octopuses.

June 23, 2024 10:02 a.m.

legendofa: Seeing as I didn't even make a Dr Who thread (nor anyone else lol), you can imagine my feelings regarding the cards you posted.

That aside, I'm not criticising Assassin's Creed's world in of it self. (I haven't played any of the games, but I've done some wiki binging to get the gist of it.) I just think a lot of it doesn't mesh well with MtG. If we haaaave to have UB, I'm OK with this franchise's pre-modern original characters.

June 23, 2024 9:45 a.m.

A lot of the flavor here feels really bland due to the use of historical people and public domain artifacts. (Wanna build a deck with both Cleopatra, Exiled Pharaoh and Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons?)

At least Outlaw and Assassin kindred decks are eating good. For commanders who want to attack, Brotherhood Regalia is pretty much a straight upgrade over e.g. Prowler's Helm.
