Translate or translation was a Ta-Ree spell capable of being wielded by Ascendants on the planet Kathol. The spell allowed the caster to translate a language and then be able to speak it as well. This power worked on spoken languages, droid languages, and the written word.
The Ascendant required a demonstration of the language, either by hearing it spoken aloud or reading it. Once exposed to it, the Ascendant was able to understand the language. Once the spell was no longer in use, the Ascendant did not retain the knowledge of being able to speak or read the language.
Ascendants who wished to cast the spell were required to know the projective empathy and receptive empathy spells.
