"In ancient times, on Corellia, Lord Nyax was what parents threatened their children with if they didn't eat their stewfruit or go to bed on time."
―Luke Skywalker[1]

A stewfruit was an edible fruit that was consumed on Corellia,[1] a planet of the Core Worlds.[2] Centuries before the Yuuzhan Vong War, Corellian children often refused to eat their stewfruits, which prompted their parents to use the false threat of the bogeyman Lord Nyax to make them obey. The Jedi Luke Skywalker told of parents doing so[1] in 27 ABY,[3] when he told the tale of Lord Nyax to members of the Walkway Collective resistance group.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Stewfruits were mentioned in The New Jedi Order: Enemy Lines II: Rebel Stand, a novel written by Aaron Allston and published in 2002.[1]
