The Stark Forests was a forest region on the continent of Thyr on the planet Tython. The trees of the Stark Forests sucked moisture from the air and stored water in leathery sacks that hung like pendulums from their skeletal branches, and the sacs were useful to travelers who were passing through the area. A small stream ran through part of the forests, and hook hawks—carnivorous birds native to Tython that hypnotized their victims with song—were often found in flocks in the Stark Forests.^[1]
