Rebel marksman

A Rebel marksman was a sniper who served in the Alliance to Restore the Republic.^[3] They were typically equipped with an E-17d sniper rifle, a DL-44 heavy blaster pistol as a side-arm, Class-A thermal detonators, and an R-4 recon droid,^[4] but some were outfitted with autoturrets in place of recon droids.^[5]

Rebel marksmen were deployed on many battlefields during the Galactic Civil War, including the raid on Yavin 4, the Battle of Hoth, and the Battle of Endor.^[3] They were motivated individuals, and a squad of them were capable of routing a whole company of Imperial stormtroopers.^[4] A prominent number of Rebel marksmen were women.^[3]

The Rebel marksman fills the sniper class role for the Rebel Alliance in the Star Wars: Battlefront video game series. Rebel snipers also appear in the Endor downloadable expansion to the 2010 video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, an alternate Battle of Endor scenario.

A squad of snipers accompanied a Rebel strike force to the planet Endor in an attempt to destroy the shield generator protecting the under-construction Death Star II. They were all killed by the Dark Apprentice, the clone of Galen Marek.
