A gigantic dekamite queen using a 720 light freighter as a shell
In some insectoid species like the lyleks of Ryloth, a queen was a female from whose eggs an entire colony developed.[2] Similarly, large female krayt dragons on Tatooine were also referred to as queens.[3]
In the case of the sentient Geonosians, the queen of a hive could also be the queen in the political sense, a ruler of her people.[1] In some hives, however, the queen simply produced offspring while the aristocratic caste ruled.[4]
Like the Geonosians, the sentient Colicoids also had queens.[5]
