The Pasarian Memorial Atmospheric Reclamation Complex Project, originally the Coruscant Atmospheric Reclamation Complex Project, was a civil engineering project that set several planetwide atmospheric scrubbing systems developed by the Galactic Republics on it capital planet of Coruscant to ensure it atmosphere did not become laden with the large amount of toxic gases and chemicals produced by its planet-wide city. It had become necessary because there was no longer any arable land left on the entire planet. Development had eliminated all of Coruscant's plant life, which had once helped to maintain the air quality. A large number of the atmospheric scrubbing stations employed genetically engineered organisms that could consume toxic gases and chemicals.
