Mandalorian heavy armor was worn by Mandalorian soldiers as an alternative to light armor or medium armor. These sturdy suits possessed internal stabilizers which allowed the distribution of energy throughout the frame. This system allowed the wearer to be shielded from attacks that would normally disorient them. The Mandalorian heavy armor was still in use during the Jedi Civil War and the Dark Wars.

The Mandalorian heavy armor was intended to appear in the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic but it was removed from the final version of the game. As the armor was still present in the game files, it could be obtained using cheat codes.
