"Set course for the Denarii Nova! I have a plan to make use of the remaining power we have!"
―Naga Sadow[4]

The Denarii Nova was the name given to a pair of stars located in the Denarii system,[1] and later in the Denarii Nebula,[2][3] of the Gordian Reach sector, within the Trans-Hydian portion of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It was known to be far removed from the Black Hole of Quintas.[5]

The smaller star of the Denarii Nova fed on gases stolen from the larger one.[6]

History[]

"The Force is in all things, from the smallest pebble to the largest star. This is just a glimmer of how Naga Sadow reached out to the stars and delivered a mortal wound five thousand years ago."
"Could you make the sun explode?"
"I don't know. And I don't believe I ever want to try."

The explosion created by Naga Sadow

At the end of the Great Hyperspace War in 5000 BBY,[1] the Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow flew his damaged flagship, the Corsair, between the binary stars of the Denarii Nova to escape the Galactic Republic forces that pursued him.[4] The Sith sorcerer used his powers to manipulate the solar flares of the Denarii Nova, thus creating an explosion that destroyed the Republic ships in his wake.[4]

This cataclysmic event resulted in the destruction of the entire Denarii system,[6] which created a nebula of highly ionized gases known as the Denarii Nebula.[1]

In 4 ABY, eight months after the death of Emperor Palpatine at the Battle of Endor, the fanatical Grand Admiral Ishin-Il-Raz committed suicide by plunging his Star Destroyer, the Emperor's Disciple, into the firestorm of the Denarii Nova, killing himself and his entire crew.[7]

During the Second Imperium crisis in 23 ABY,[3] following a raid on Coruscant,[8] the Shadow Academy space station found a new hiding place near the dying stars of the Denarii Nova,[2] within the Denarii Nebula.[3]
