Daminia was a desert world[3] located in the Daminia system, a part of the Perkell sector[1] in the Trans-Hydian portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1] The damind lightsaber crystals could be found there.[3]
By 3959 BBY, Daminia was a part of the "civilized galaxy," the territory that had been widely explored by the Galactic Republic.[2] At some point, ancient Sith Lords harvested on Daminia the damind crystals,[4] which could be found in the galaxy[3] by 3956 BBY.[5] During the Jedi Civil War of 3959 BBY–3956 BBY, Daminia fell within the territory controlled by the empire founded by the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Revan.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Daminia was first mentioned in the 2003 BioWare video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.[3] The Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide, a 2008 roleplaying sourcebook published by Wizards of the Coast for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, erroneously referred to the damind lightsaber crystals as the "daminia" crystals.[6] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Daminia system, and therefore the world itself, in grid square Q-7.[2]
