Ensign Caln was an individual who served the Galactic Empire's navy as a tractor officer aboard the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Chimaera[1] in 0 ABY.[2] When Imperial Court member Lord Odo's Kazellis-class light freighter Salaban's Hope was attacked by several ships, the Chimaera's commander, Captain Drusan, ordered the ensign to activate the tractor beams and attract the two farthest attackers as Odo suggested. Caln complied, allowing the Salaban's Hope to destroy them before the larger Star Destroyer defeated the rest. The freighter was then brought aboard the Chimaera.[1]
