Major Minecraft Update Coming to Mobile, Windows 10, Gear VR By End of Year

The Ender Dragon draws nigh!

Minecraft developer Mojang has announced a major update is coming to the Windows 10, Pocket, and Gear VR editions of its popular world-building game later this year.

Dubbed the 1.0 Ender Update, this new batch of content will finally bring The End dimension and the Ender Dragon boss battle to Windows 10 and mobile users. Additionally, it will raise the current 128-block world height to 256 blocks.

The update will be free for everyone who already owns a copy of the Pocket Edition, Gear VR Edition, or the Windows 10 version of Minecraft. It's also worth noting the upcoming Apple TV Edition will feature all of the content included in this update as well.

A beta for the Ender 1.0 Update is available starting today for Android users, while the full update will launch in sometime before the end of 2016.

Just last month, Mojang released the Boss Update for Windows 10, Gear VR and mobile users, which added explorable Ocean Monuments and a battle with the Wither, the Elder Guardian.
