Genshin Impact artifact tier list

Which artifacts are worth your Resin?

Of the many artifacts in Genshin Impact, which sets are worth farming? From the ubiquitous Viridescent Venerer to the unavailing Maiden Beloved, here’s a ranked list of every notable artifact set in Genshin Impact.

This list is limited to 5-star artifact sets – with a few notable exceptions. There are also a couple of 4-star artifact sets that may be worth your attention. Artifacts are ranked by how flexible they are, i.e., how many characters can use them. If an artifact set has fewer characters that can use it, it will be ranked lower on this list.

The following sets are in S tier because many of Genshin Impact’s most powerful characters use them as their best-in-slot artifacts. You should probably try to get at least one 4pc set of each artifact type here.

Viridescent VenererViridescent Venerer is the go-to artifact set for Anemo characters. Its powerful RES shred debuff makes it one of the most desirable artifact sets in Genshin Impact.
Noblesse Oblige & Tenacity of the MillelithThese are valuable support sets that allow their holders to grant a team-wide ATK buff.
Emblem of Severed FateThis set converts some of your character’s Energy Recharge into Burst damage.
Marechausee HunterAs long as your character can reliably trigger HP changes, 4pc Marechausee Hunter provides a massive amount of CRIT Rate. If HP changes aren’t built into their kit, Furina enables them to use this set.
Deepwood Memories & Gilded DreamsMost Dendro teams will want one or both sets on their characters. Luckily, they can both be farmed from the same domain.
Shimenawa’s ReminiscenceShimenawa’s Reminiscence buffs Normal and Charged Attack damage at the cost of Energy – great for Normal-focused characters who don’t need their Bursts.

A tier artifacts aren’t as widely used as those in S tier. However, they can still be strong options for certain characters. Even if their 4pc effects aren’t the most popular, their 2pc effects are often useful.

Gladiator’s Finale & Wanderer’s TroupeBoth 2pc and 4pc versions of these sets are useful for many characters. You can obtain them through world bosses or artifact strongboxes.
Golden Troupe 4pc Golden Troupe grants a massive buff to your character’s Skill damage, as long as they stay off-field.
Blizzard Strayer Blizzard Strayer is invaluable for Cryo DPS units in Freeze teams. While this is somewhat specific, Freeze teams have such utility that I recommend trying to obtain at least one 4pc Blizzard Strayer set.
Crimson Witch of Flames CWoF is often the best artifact set for reaction-based Pyro DPS characters, of which there are many.
The Exile & InstructorThese sets cannot appear as 5-stars, only 4-stars. They provide unique, useful buffs, but are hampered by their lower stat totals due to their lower rarities. They can only be obtained from chests, world bosses, elite enemies, and Spiral Abyss rewards. With these sets, keep any pieces that start with three substats and have Energy Recharge.

The artifacts in B tier are strong only in niche circumstances. In many cases, these artifacts are only useful on specific characters in specific teams.

Thundering Fury & ThundersootherThese Electro-based sets are in the same domain. They have niche uses in certain Electro teams.
Husk of Opulent Dreams & Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing WoodsThese sets buff Geo damage in different ways – useful for Geo DPS units.
Heart of Depth & Nymph’s Dream These artifacts are great for Hydro DPS characters like Tartaglia and Ayato.
Vermillion HereafterEchoes of an Offering These sets appear in the same domain. They have niche uses, but can be useful on certain characters.
Ocean-Hued Clam & Song of Days PastThese artifacts allow healers to convert some of their healing into damage, whether through instances of flat damage or by buffing teammates.
Archaic Petra & Retracing BolideThese niche artifacts can be farmed in the same domain. They offer specific buffs when triggering Crystallize or when shielded.
LavawalkerLavawalker is useful in reverse Melt teams and mono Pyro teams, but there are usually comparable alternatives.
Flower of Paradise Lost & Desert Pavilion ChronicleThese artifacts appear in the same domain. Flower of Paradise Lost is good for Bloom-based teams, but the Gilded Dreams set is almost as good. Desert Pavilion Chronicle can be used on some Anemo DPS units.
Fragment of Harmonic WhimsyIn order to activate this set’s 4pc effect, the equipping character must be able to apply a Bond of Life to themselves.
Vourukasha’s GlowThough the 4pc effect isn’t very useful, Vourukasha’s Glow is one of only two sets that offer HP% as its 2pc bonus.

C tier artifacts in Genshin Impact

The artifacts in C tier are rarely used, if at all. It’s hard to recommend farming a domain with these artifacts, even if you need the other set in the same domain. I recommend trying to get what you need through artifact strongboxes in order to avoid these artifacts.

Pale Flame & Bloodstained ChivalryThese are Physical damage sets. There are very few characters who are designed to deal Physical damage, and even fewer who are prominent in the meta. Unless you’re building Eula or Freminet, I would try to avoid these sets.
Maiden BelovedMaiden Beloved boosts healing. Most characters can heal plenty without Maiden Beloved and are better off with a set that provides more utility.
Unfinished ReverieUnfinished Reverie relies on the Burning reaction to work. It’s not worth building a team around Burning.
