As with all live service games, Final Fantasy XIV must undergo periods of maintenance before expansions and patches. We’re accustomed to the typical 6-12 hour server outages as FFXIV undergoes the usual updates, but expansions like Dawntrail are a whole other ballgame.
It’s a good time to plan ahead, as login queues after FFXIV completes its Dawntrail maintenance will surely entail a lengthy wait—though hopefully, it’ll be smoother than Endwalker. Anyway, here’s the rundown on FFXIV Dawntrail early access, maintenance, and when you can download the update via the Square Enix launcher.

June 26 to 28 – Dawntrail Maintenance for Version 7.0
FFXIV Dawntrail maintenance began at approximately 2 a.m. PDT on June 26 and will end at approximately 2 a.m. PST on June 28. In order to update Final Fantasy XIV and implement the next expansion, servers will be completely down for maintenance for 48 hours.
Dawntrail Maintenance Timezones:
- Wednesday, 2 a.m. PDT
- Wednesday, 4 a.m. CT
- Wednesday, 5 a.m. EDT
- Wednesday, 12 p.m. BST
June 28 – When you can download the Dawntrail FFXIV patch
Update: The Dawntrail patch is available to download now, but the original schedule is as follows. If you’re having trouble downloading the patch, we also have suggestions for how to fix the Unable to Download Patch Files error encountered in the FFXIV launcher.
According to the Lodestone, this All Worlds Maintenance download may be a little bigger than normal, thanks to the nature of the graphics update. So, make sure you hop on it as early as possible. You should be able to download Patch 7.0 via the FFXIV launcher at the following times, depending on your platform:
- Windows/Mac players – June 27, 8 a.m. PDT
- PlayStation/Xbox players – June 26, 4 a.m. PDT
The Lodestone, Companion App, and Online store will also undergo maintenance during this period. If you’re having trouble getting in, just know the download goes live before maintenance is over, so double check your times. June 28 – Dawntrail early access begins
Dawntrail early access begins on June 28, as soon as the servers are live — so when maintenance times end, as listed above. Remember, FFXIV ends its early access period on July 2. If you do not enter your code for the full game and register a copy of Dawntrail, then your access cuts off on July 5.

July 15 – Patch 7.01 and The Arcadion
Patch 7.01 is set to go live on July 16, so servers will likely be down for approximately 24 hours on June 15 in order to add The Arcadion normal raid series (tier 1-4), as well as implement any necessary hotfixes.
July 29 – Patch 7.01 and new content
Patch 7.05 is set to go live on July 30, so we can expect another 24-hour maintenance period on the 29.
This will be the biggest patch for Dawntrail yet, implementing the following content:
- The Arcadion (Savage) (tier 1-4)
- Cenote Jaja Gural (New Treasure Dungeon)
- Tomestones of Heliometry (New capped Tomestones)
- The addition of master recipes and new crafted gear
